With the Call Beyond, point blank tends to to be worse due to how the projectiles track. Each one can only hit the enemy once and only 6 projectiles track. But the tracking starts a little later than most people expect and have traveled a little distance already before tracking which causes the tracking projectiles to miss. Also the reason the damage tendes to suck in general is due to scaling. The hunter tools scale weirdly where they actually gain a LOT of their damage at close to max Arcane. Each tool scales better between different levels. The Call Beyond is a perfect example where most of its damage comes between 70-90 Arcane, making it more of an NG+ item.

Favorite micolash moment? Well my first playthrough, i was getting frusturated chasing him forever, then he fell through the map and died when i couldnt see him.
