Well, my Jeep is 2021 JLUR European version with front fenders like Your (US) Sahara version (lower type). So, after watching tons of videos like Yours, I decide to pull the trigger and finally jump from 33'' 285/70/17 KM3 (wich are on my Jeep since last summer and replace previous 32'' 255/75/17 factory KM2) to 35'' 315/70/17 KM3. Becouse anybody said - its not rubbing... Well, suprise suprise ;) Its is rubbing on lower front control arms on full lock (both sides) and on right back inner plastic. Well.. besides that everything looks ok when you drive straight. On the left turn, this right back inner fender scrapping A LOT. Even when i'm riding alone. Any passenger in the car, it rubbing on every bump, even on straight. So, i invest and bought Teraflex 1.5'' Sport Leveling Kit with extended bump stops. But i think it will not prevent those rubbs. So, it looks like Jeep doesn't said all true about 35 tyres on stock Rubicon. I'm am pretty dissaponted, becouse i really don't wanna go to the rabbit hole and start modify another suspension parts. I decide to back to the 33'' tyres. Jeep looks in this configuration for most balanced in my opinion. Best regards! edit: I'm using stock rims becouse i like them, I'm don't want to use spacers on wheels.
@rockquestoff-road28392 жыл бұрын
WOW dude!! So sorry you went through that! I should specify in my video that this is for US version rubicons. I did some research and found the issue…the EU and US version both have the same axles but the US gets the wider versions. No wonder ours don’t rub the control arms and your does. See below from a forum I found. Cheers!! “One difference that wasn't mentioned here is about the axles themselves on the Rubicon models. Yes they are the same US & EU spec, but the US gets the "Wide" version of them. US Spec: Dana M210 Front Axle - Wide Dana M220 Rear Axle - Wide EU Spec: Dana M210 Front Axle Dana M220 Rear Axle This info was pulled from my build sheet (EU Spec / Middle East Spec ) and my friends US-Spec both are JLUR. Note: This does not Affect the type of lift kit you want to install. all lifts can fit on both versions, i asked multiple lift manufacturers "Teraflex & AEV" Coilover kits that require custom brackets on the axle could not confirm if they fit on EU Spec Non-wide Axles.”

Haha yeah they do! My 2009 expedition is a lot more aerodynamic and is one finger driving at 75...the JL getting pushed and pulled by the wind a LOT but it way better than a JK....also something that helped mine track a LOT better was adjustable lower control arms...would you believe Jeep uses the same lower control arm length on the Sport and Rubicon even though the rubicon sits 1 inch higher...the Sports have a Castor of around 5.5 and track well on the highway....the rubicons stock have a castor of around 4.5 which is really anemic and adds a wandering looseness to the steering feel and some steering wheel shimmy on alligator bumps and potholes once you have a few thousand miles on it....when I got my adjustable lowers put on and the castor dialed to around 6.5-7 degrees was the sweet spot and all my steering wheel feedback is gone and it tracks with my hands off the wheel straight as an arrow as long as there is no wind 👍🏻

If the offset is more positive like a 4.5 or 3.5 offset it will hit the back of the fenders badly and the front bumper because would that would be increasing the steering “arc” of the front tires.

If you flexed slowly into that position it would just leave rub marks. @@rockquestoff-road2839 thanks for the reply. Im doing some off road sometime and if i put the 315 i need to add in some half inch lift at the back? In the video it show touching the fender.
@rockquestoff-road28393 жыл бұрын
Oh gotcha if you are doing some off-roading the 295 will have zero rubbing at all...but if you didn’t mind adding a 1/2 inch bumpstop kit for $25-35 you could use the 315s off road.

My brother just added the half inch bumpstops because he didn’t want to lift his Jeep at all👍🏻

What was tire pressure? Thx

Hi, I need your advice, I don’t want to lose the dealership warranty by bringing my own lift kit. I would like to place 315/70/R17 KO2 BFG all Teran on stock JLU rubicon. I use it as my family car and I go off-roading not more than 10 times a year for dune bashing not rocks crawling. Also when I go for dune bashing I deflate tire pressure to 10-15 psi. Do you think it will be ok to do that without a lift? The lift kit at the dealership costs around 4000 usd. Appreciate your quick reply

Absolutely I would just buy the tires and then also purchase some .5 inch bumpstop extensions like these www.extremeterrain.com/teraflex-bump-stop-strike-pad-shim-kit-2018-jeep-jl.html and it will work perfectly and not affect any warranty on your Jeep...also for your information you can install and lift kit or tires or even axles and Jeep will still cover your warranty on the entire Jeep....the only thing that Jeep will not cover are the actual parts you installed...so if you installed new shocks and coil springs Jeep will not cover those specific aftermarket parts with your warranty anymore but will still cover the whole rest of your Jeep 👍🏻if you ever have any dealer trouble just contact JeepCares and they will straighten them out..Jeep wants you to modify their vehicles!! Thanks man!

And yes the Mopar lift is CRAZY overpriced...

I think the dealership won’t accept to place a bumpstop extension as they are looking for anything to cancel the warranty. Do you think is it on to go with 315/70/17 tires without any modifications, but I will ask them to reprogram it with 35” tires

Thank you buddy.

Yes they will be fine since you don’t crawl it! My brothers works great without extensions for 99% of our wheeling

I have a stock 2018 JLUR and am considering the 315/70/r17 KO2's as well. I wanted to avoid the bump stops to prevent losing suspension travel. Do you think that to avoid rubbing i could replace the stock fender liners with some aftermarket inner fenders? There's many out there that look like they would provide substantially more clearance. Thoughts?
@rockquestoff-road28393 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! That is the alternative to bumpstops if you don’t mind a little work to get the fenders in! 35s would definitely easily fit at full flex with aftermarket inner fenders. Great point I’ll talk to my brother about this because it would be nice to not lose any suspension travel at all

Question, I want to make sure these 315's were put on the stock wheels,, correct?
@St.PierreProductions4 жыл бұрын
I keep being told that the tire doesn't fit on the stock wheel. Not sure if they're trying to get more money out of me or what, but I want 35s.
@rockquestoff-road28394 жыл бұрын
Discount tire and other corporate tire chains will not install 315’s on the stock wheels because they say they are too narrow for 315 wheel… But they are wrong and being overly careful because of their lawyers… 315s go on the stock wheels perfectly...Find a local tire shop and they will do it no problem
@rockquestoff-road28394 жыл бұрын
They work even better on the stock wheels because they have the perfect backspacing to keep the jeep turning and driving like stock with no more wandering caused by wider offset aftermarket wheels...
@rockquestoff-road28394 жыл бұрын
You are also less likely to lose the bead on a tire off road because the wheels are slightly narrower than most another bonus...don’t listen to whoever is telling you that...they obviously have no personal experience and are just reading tire and wheel specs

@@rockquestoff-road2839 that's what I kind of figured. But since I kept getting that answer over and over again,, I didn't want to risk anything. I appreciate you, and will take your advice!

315/70/17 aren't true 35! They're more like 34 inch for the BF Goodrich and 34.4 inches for Nittos.
@rockquestoff-road28393 жыл бұрын
Correct the BFGs are 34.4 and .3 inches smaller than most average 35s! But still a “35” for most people!
