Pick any tune from this group of exceptional musicians and you'll be real happy with what your ears are enjoying. Can't go wrong with all their southern flavor of Classic Rock. One of my favorite shows I've seen live. Another great choice JM... Cool again.

There is a live version that is a killer. Charlie Daniels plays fiddle and its a 12 minute banger. Recorded at the University of Wisconsin. The album is Where We All Belong.

👍👍 the man can sing. When he's performing live, he really lets it rip. And seems to do it effortlessly. An underrated talent Imo. The whole band is.

That's from my favorite Marshall Tucker band album, A New Life. You should listen to the title track. It's a goodie. The Marshall Tucker band, along with the Charlie Daniels band had the most traditional country sound of that era of the southern rock bands. But they would toss in some jazz along with the country sound that really made them unique. Listen to Saddle Tramp by the Charlie Daniels band. It's a good example of their jazz influenced jams.

There was a cover band back in Raleigh in the 70s that usually closed with this tune. Always thought it was a great and interesting choice for them because they weren't strictly a southern rock cover band. They mostly played Nugent, Blue Oyster Cult etc type rock of the day, with some southern rock thrown in. But the crowd loved it and expected it as the closer at every show. Highway Song always proceeded it.

Love Marshall Tucker Band! They were huge back in the 70s and blended in well with all the kaleidascope of music from that decade! It would be great if you reacted to my favorite by them, which was also wildly popular back then, "Can't You See" (link below). Great reaction choice, JM! Although, they have so many great hits. Thank you! ✌💙✌ Can't You See - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2Wbi5Rti7-FlcU

They are from Spartanburg. SC. Their lead singer Doug Gray is my first cousin. He lives at Myrtle Beach now. Their original drummer, the one on this track, and also one of my best friends and drum teacher lives in Greenville, SC. His name is Paul T. Riddle

The version you should have done is from the album "Where we all Belong". That's the double album that is half studio and half live. This song is 13 minutes on that album and has an incredibly long jam that's righteous.......👍

I’ve been on stage with this band…on their guest list for every show(couldn’t make every show damnit)….this song on ‘Where we all Belong’ gets to movin’ this train down the track in a big hurry! Paul T. & Tommy Layin’ down the backbeat put one in the saddle. From Spartanburg South Carolina… The albums Searchin’ for a Rainbow Carolina Dreams are crazy good….Toy and Tommy were thumb pickers

"24 Hours At A Time" I've been down around Houston, Texas Where the sun shines most of the time I've been drivin' about six hours Tryin' to reach that Arkansas line But Texarkana's an hour ahead And I've got to keep my wheels rollin' But woman you're always on my mind Twenty-four hours at a time So my woman I'm hoping you feel the same way Woman you know that I miss you And I can't miss you no more I got this ride doing seventy miles an hour She's loaded she's down to the floor But I've got to reach that Arkansas line Before the sun goes down... Yeah But woman you're always on my mind Twenty-four hours at a time So my woman I'm hoping you feel the same way Woman you know I need you I've been on the road too much Tired of looking at the highway Got to keep in touch some way I've been down around Houston, Texas Where the sun shines most of the time I've been driving about six hours Tryin' to reach that Arkansas line But Texarkana's an hour ahead And I've got to keep my wheels rolling But woman you're always on my mind Twenty-four hours at a time So my woman I'm hoping you feel the same way Feel the same way Feel the same way Feel the same way...
