Yes add plug in with 60-70 mile range on battery alone. This will cover 3-4 of my local trips a week. The onboard charger can be scaled back to charge on a 110/20amp or 240/20amp and not need dc charging. Should reduce cost and improve reliability… sensible for most local needs…

I think plug in hybrids are total npc mobiles. Dont make sense. Just regular hybrid man. Gas motor reliant, electric assisted. The bigger yiu make the battery the worse it gets. You want a reasomably sized smaller battery thats a really really good one but it still easy to replace. Thay way when you inevitably have to, its not as expensive. But thisnis a throwaway trucck man. Why out a new battery in a truck with 300k miles and needs other work too. Uts built to be recycled

This guy is full of it. The CVT system is absolutely unreliable. I’ve been in contact with Ford about this issue for a year. You’ll never save enough gas to ever recover the cost of this repair.

The ford PTU isnt a problem itself. What makes it a problem is its low fluid capacity and placement (next to hot exhuast components), which makes them a very maintenance sensitive component. They can last a long time without issue if you change the fluid every 25-30k miles. The problem is, ford doesnt even list it as a maintenance item in owners manuals and most people never even know to change the fluid before they fail from lubrication degradation.

Once your warranty is finished, your Chances of making 100,000 miles is absolutely unknown. This is a snowmobile design. If the belt breaks it will be a catastrophic issue since it may destroy the whole system. Estimated cost is over $8000 . You’ll never save that much on gasoline compared with an eco boost.
