Was alive for ST, watched my brother and cousin play it. Grew a strong love for this game. Then I grew up and found out how deep the tech runs in this game.... I learn something new every day I look into ST, and you provided me with that Orochi setup. Thanks bud.

This was a really fun video. I'm a huge fighting game fan and I played a lot of this game when it first came out, importing it on snes for almost £100 ($200) including adapter just to play it at all long before it got released in the UK. Back in the glory days of playing SF2CE in actually arcades, where you'd find arcade machines everywhere - we even had a CE machine in our local fish and chip shop! I appreciated the in depth preface of the techniques used in the video despite being a long time player. Either I just didn't know the techniques or it's been so long that I've forgotten them (I do vaguely remember negative edge moves in super turbo) so it made the video infinitely more interesting. Good job dude.

I had fun playing Super Turbo as a kid on console, but NEVER knew anything about it’s competitive community before I got into the FGC. That being said, I REALLY enjoyed this video. Loving how you have been giving these FGC lessons. I have always been a fighting game fan. Didn’t grow up around arcades. I started running my own tournaments in college (unaware of how deep the FGC actually even was lol), then became a smash player and since have delved into the rabbit whole of competitive gaming (probably good that it came late in life, because I most likely would have never done anything else lol) So I missed a LOT of FG history, and these videos have been great for me!

I used to play this game in my snes so many years ago, and it was my favorite SF game in SNES. So I was drawn to watching your video, because it's been so many years, and I wanted to see again how it looks like. Nice vid!

I have never played any sf game in my life, yet the way you explained the background of the players and their matchups, strengths and weaknesses was not only easy to understand but also entertaining. Great video

Interesting that it gets called "negative edge" in gaming terms. I do electrical and for timers and buttons we call it "trailing edge", e.g. when the signal goes away. Also, how did this show up in my recommended???

The Reason for the characters having different names is because Boxer was originally called M.Bison an his likeness was modeled after M.Tyson or Iron Mike Tyson former world champ, Capcom didnt want to get sued when porting to English so they swapped his name to Balrog, Dictator to M.Bison

I've only really ever played super turbo very casually and i liked the video a lot! The part where you analyzed the match up and explained what advantages and disadvantages each character had made me really understand what was going on in the tournament.

I just started watching your videos. Played the game when i was a kid an am not familiar with all the X vs. Y strengths but it was easy to see how hard it is for E.Honda to win vs. a good Deejay. Thank you for the addictional information for newbs like me :).

I like what Aris says about this: the matchup data only accounts for long sets. In a tournament setting, anything could happen.

I spent a huge amount of time as a teenager playing this gave in a local bowing ally. All the kids in the surrounding area would come and compete. I imagine it was the same wherever this gave was. I have never seen competitive play, or realized it was a thing. I can see why the game is still played, it just so fast paced and captivating. Thank you for sharing and giving the commentary. It really helped understand what competitive play is like and the terms for the moves we did like "Chip" is really cool. Awesome fun.
