Love the fact that she adds ginger and nutmeg to thee matzah balls. I’ve been doing this since I inherited a cookbook my aunt gave Grandma for Mother’s Day. I’ve not seen anyone one else on KZbin cooking matzah balls with the spices, but I will never cook from store bought mix again. Delicious!

Jsut made your Matzo balls. Taste amazing (used fresh ginger). I wound up with around 19. Cooked them in Chicken broth instead of water for 40 minutes (Simmering). The only problem was that they were darker inside making me think they were not completely done. Any suggestions? can they be overcooked? Can you store them in fridge in liquid for a few days? Thanks again for sharing your recipe.

They skip the whole matzo ingredient when they make the matzo balls. Do i just crush matzo??? how did they miss this?

+Sean Lynch It is usually 1 cup of matzo meal which you can get in the Kosher section of a grocery. Make sure the package says Kosher For Passover.

It appears to me that you place the veggies and chicken in there and remove it. Are you then straining the soup after you remove the chicken fat because that soup with those matzo balls looks very clear. My Mom never made chicken soup, ever because my Dad had awful memories of chicken soup growing up being made by his Mom. I'm still clueless as to why but they've both passed and I feel that I shouldn't be feeling like this is off limits. Mom always told me if you want to make Jewish food ,
