The post T2 films look bad. The CGI looks cartoonish/fake/blah. Also the writing is not great - or at least I think it must not have been because I can't remember hardly anything of them. Comparing to Aliens (Alien 2): When I was a young kid I watched the 3rd one and I liked it, but when I watched it when I was an older teen I didn't like it; but when I later watched the "Assembly Cut" (basically unofficial director's cut), I decided that I like it and it's a good movie. When I was kid I didn't like #4, but now when I am older I quite like it 👍 Alien v Predator = a crime against cinema Prometheus and its follow ups are so-so: definitely better than AVP but in retrospect I don't remember them that well and I don't feel like I necessarily want to watch them again (whereas, for me, Aliens and T2 are infinitely watchable). I really enjoyed the most recent Alien movie. I watched it in 4K on a big screen and it was great. I'm not saying it was perfect, but for me it's the best since the 4th Alien move, and I wish we could get a Terminator sequel that is the same level of quality. As I said: for the Terminator franchise, every move after T2 is pretty much just blah (in my opinion).
@Terrible0x0Trivium9 күн бұрын
@robertjenkins6132 Romulus was great. IMO T2 looks better than Avatar. Probably the fact that they used to do practical effects enhanced by CGI rather than just digitally painting every single frame.

The first thing my teenage son noticed in this movie, that he thought was so unrealistic, was that a 14 year old kid would just take off on a dirt bike and ride into town. I've never felt so old, because that was fairly typical of the time. I guess I should be grateful that times have changed, and most kids can't even imagine such things.

Of course, now they do that all the time, but T2 did it first. 1991 was a decent year for movies and we saw them all. T2 was among the very best, though. We were blown away by it. 17 years old, going into our senior year of high school. That summer started with Backdraft, Robin Hood, The Rocketeer, then T2 and Point Break! Wow.
