I actually really like these movies. The over the top cussing is hilarious, the kills and theme song are still good, and casting a 6'9 295 pound guy to play Michael instead of just another normal sized guy was a great idea. I had a few issues with Rob Zombie's Halloween remake, but it was pretty good. My problems with it were; 1) Too much cussing 2) don't like the explanation of why Michael is a killer. The things I liked were the orange mask he wore as he escaped the asylum and the time spent on his younger years in the asylum.

It was an action movie more then Horror. Zombie trued reinventing the wheel here and wasn’t close to being a great film . What made the originals great is you didn’t see to much of Myers and when you did it was at the right time ,stories are best revolving around the supporting cast , Myers was like an action hero in Robs movies .

@tylermontoya40814 күн бұрын
Rob Zombies take on Halloween and the origin of The Shape was crude, sick, unsettling, raw, violent and at times bizarre. All reasons why I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think this explains why some people dislike it so much is they can’t handle how demented and traumatizing the film is at times. Michael Myers is portrayed so ruthlessly and aggressively, the shaking camera work when Michael is pounding the guys head against the bathroom stall, you can almost feel each kill viscerally. The highly dysfunctional and at times incestuous family dynamic (for example when the dad makes an inappropriate comment about his teen daughter in the kitchen), innocent children subjected to an emotionally neglectful and festering home environment. At least for those who grew up in broken households or witnessed their parents go through a nasty divorce, the family scenes at the beginning are definitely powerful. As a child your parents yelling vehemently at each other is one of the most terrifying and haunting sounds, supplemented with the ear piercing cry of a baby and dishes being thrown to the ground, just brutal.
@AthifArif-g4t10 күн бұрын
The reason people dislike the Rob Zombie version of Halloween is because they humanize Michael, they give him this unnecessary tragic backstory to get us to sympathize with him. Michael in the original films doesn’t have a tragic backstory and isn’t sympathetic because he didn’t need one/didn’t have to be, he’s 100% pure evil and his motivations are unknown, Michael felt more like a demon/force of nature than a man, and that’s what made him scary. Rob Zombie’s Michael Myers doesn’t feel like Michael Myers, he feels like someone cosplaying as Michael Myers, and while I do think the films themselves aren’t that bad they suck as Halloween films because they don’t understand what made those original movies great.

@@AthifArif-g4t I couldn't agree with this any less. I was born in the 70's and watched the original Halloween on VHS. I never thought to myself that Michael Myers isn't human in that film. He seemed very evil, violent, powerful and resilient.. In fact we even see him as a small child committing the murder of his sister which is very disturbing for a young boy however making him a sick human being. I 100% AGREE with Tyler Montoya in the sense that it's certainly not out of the realm of possibility that there is this boy who was chastised, tormented, then snapped and killed his sister and stepfather. After being arrested and institutionalized, he grew into a massive man with demented anger and rage inside of him. When he kills the orderly (who treated him nice during his time in the nuthouse) when he crushes Joe Grizzly in the truck stop bathroom and when he violently impales people with the knife with insane force it creates this haunting anticipation of complete doom when he gets near his next victim. You know he has no soul and is operating like a complete, massive, killing machine and I think Zombie captured a more realistic back story as to how all of this culminated. Also when you compare Zombie's first Halloween film to Halloween Ends it makes Zombie look like Francis Ford Coppola or Stanley Kubrick. Ends was a DUMPSTER FIRE!
@AthifArif-g4t9 күн бұрын
@@leewinter28I’m not saying that Michael isn’t human in a literal sense, I’m saying it in a metaphorical sense. Throughout the original movies Michael is described in a dehumanizing manner (often referred to as the evil”evil on 2 legs the boogeyman, it, etc) mostly by doctor Loomis, even the way Michael acts and moves feels unnatural, Rob Zombie’s version humanizes him by giving him this tragic backstory “oh look at how terrible Michael’s life is, his stepfather treats him and the rest of his family like garbage, he’s relentlessly bullied by his classmates, how sad”, it’s the same reason the curse of thorn trilogy failed (even though I enjoy those movies) Humanizing Michael and giving a reason for his actions/a backstory removes the appeal/fear factor of the character. It’s the reason Rob Zombie’s movies failed

Rob Zombie’s halloween from my honest point of view was kinda like the movie batman begins, resurrecting the batman movie franchise after the disaster flop 1997’s movie batman and robin so yeah between movie flops halloween resurrection and batman and robin 1997, both movie directors Christopher Nolan and Rob Zombie revived two of the worlds iconic movie franchises halloween and batman. 🎬

It was watchable but I always say it's not scary that Michael becomes a product of his environment. A kid snapping because he got bullied at home and school and started killing animals that gradually turned into murdering people isn't as scary as a kid with a normal life snapping

I unapologetically love both RZ movies.

Me too. I actually like the second one even more. In fact I think I've watched RZ Halloween 2 more times than any other film in the franchise. And the fact that it makes people mad, makes me like it even more.

Zombies remake shit all over the last three instalments 😂 However that second remake is absolutely woeful but still better than Ends.

I hate how people are so over critical on this remake... this was an absolute masterpiece!

So, in terms of floating ideas for the Halloween franchise, you're saying that Preparations A through G failed, but the one everyone agreed on was Preparation H.

The cursing could definitely be dialed down, but it was a good modern take on the original 🤷♂️

Tbh i really like his Halloween. It isn’t perfect but I did enjoy it a lot. Not so much the sequel 💀 house of 1000 corpses is in my top 5 of all time but rob has been making stinkers since the devils rejects tbh

At 5:34 yeah i just know that about Danielle Panabaker was supposed to be Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie Halloween 2007 Remake and I wouldn’t mind Danielle Panabaker as Laurie Strode as that character she was in a another remake Friday the 13th 2009 and also Piranha 3DD 2012 and I wish Danielle Panabaker would of gotten to play the role for Laurie Strode but oh well it is for what it is but i still enjoy Scout Taylor Compton as Laurie Strode i think she still a great actress and she is also beautiful and very gorgeous too

At least he tried and took a swing. For what it is. I love it. Fuck it. Why hate it when you can choose to watch or not watch. I will always love the empty pool scene. So tense.

I don’t understand the hate for Zombie’s H1. It’s lowkey amazing. I know the childhood parts are so grimy and gross, but the last half, aka the OG Halloween 1 remake part, is brilliant. It’s terrifying and a great modern spin on a classic. Idk I really enjoy Zombie’s H1 as a true horror movie. The Myers’ mask might be my favorite in the series, but the OG 1978 mask will never be topped. It’s a great change up from Michael being just another person in the background to him being a walking refrigerator. I like that we have a different and more brutal take. Zombie’s Halloween 2 on the other hand is garbage

There were talks before about a third installment to Rob Zombie’s halloween movie saga but then it became unclear if Rob Zombie would come back to write and direct a third movie so then therefore with that being said the whole idea for a third installment of Rob Zombie’s halloween became completely scrapped and then of course Rob Zombie himself went on to make other movies. 🎥
