I remember watching this at the theater. Up to this point it was more or less a standard romantic comedy (with slightly odd comic-book/video-game humor), but this was such a crazy and unexpected turning point. Some people actually walked out of the theater, but I was like "holy shit, best movie ever"

They hit it perfectly adapting the fights from the games/comics what makes it even better is the movie isn't taking its self seriously at all so the fights don't stand out like sore thumbs they in fact enhance the movie since we know this film isn't serious tons of superhero movies try to act serious but have goofy fights like this so they don't work.

It’s likely for the movie they wanted to scenes of the people reacting with disbelief at Scott’s fighting ability which admittedly is funny. Comics and movies are different , it doesn’t hit the same visually if they are all just sitting there with no reaction because they know Scott is the best fighter in Toronto.

I remember I saw this with my brother in the theater and my brother wanted to dip because he thought the movie was lame but as soon as Scott threw that punch and the fighting started he stayed 😂💀
