The Marylin Manson portion just made me angry about the "blame everyone else for my bad parenting," problem in America. His albums have ALWAYS had an "Explicit" warning on them - same with the "M for Mature" rating on video games. If YOU can't be a parent, and you let your children consume these materials, that's a YOU problem, not a media problem. Stop blaming mature music, games, television, and movies, for your inability to tell your child "no." It's one thing to call out people who market mature content to children (looking at you Colleen Ballinger, Shane Dawson, and other bad KZbinrs), but it's entirely different when the artists put every possible warning available, and you still let your 10yr old consume it. It's not the artist's fault, it's yours. You're a bad parent, and you should feel bad.
@jimmyplenderleith94719 ай бұрын
But that would require these poor excuses for parents to have to look in the mirror and admit they were wrong. How can they do that when they are busy putting on an act at all the bake sales and other stupid shit they do? Gotta keep up so the other parents think they are cool. Gotta make sure they have all the right stuff so the other parents will accept them. The fact they dont parent and spend more time worrying about their image is a fuckin joke. My kid has heard Manson and other supposedly "bad" stuff since he was a young kid cause I like the music. He's a teenager now. He isn't bad, he isn't doing awful things, he is a fantastic student and a good kid..wanna know why? Cause I took the time to parent him...and when I mess up (which I do) I admit and fix it. Im not concerned with what some other jagoff thinks of me...I'm not 14, I dont give a f what someone else has that I dont or what they think of me. So keep blaming video games and music for why your kids have issues, while you sit aside paying no attention to them drinking that 3rd bottle of wine behind closed doors.

@@jimmyplenderleith9471 👏👏 Louder for the people in the back! Just for clarification on my end, I'm not saying that the ratings should be a hard and fast rule (my mum let me play "violent video games" young) BUT if you're going to make that decision, you have to accept the responsibilities that come with it. Monitor your kids, explain to them the differences between art, entertainment, and real life. Don't just give them whatever they want, and leave them to their devices, and if something goes wrong, blame it on the media. No. You sound like an awesome parent 👍👏 - reminds me of my mum who, 34yrs later, still looks out for me (even though I've got a home, a state job, and a husband 😂)

@@badfoody What about her? My comment has nothing to do with his potential abuse crimes - that's completely separate from the issue of parents trying to blame "violent music" for the behavior of their children, when their children were not the intended audience of that media, and they were warned well in advance that it was explicit, but bought it for them, and left them to their own devices. If your 10yr old kid is listening to Manson, or playing GTA, or watching Hostel, the only person to blame is YOU.

If you look at the charges, who has filed them and on what grounds. The cases against him fall apart. Its his persona that goes against him. He was needlessly dragged through the coals for Columbine. His popularity faded. Then these cases, because of the numbers they rang true. Multiple women with repressed memories share tales of horror. The police launch an investigation his devices are seized. Then some cracks. You find out ERW forged an FBI letter, coordinated with others to charge him most notably his assistant Ashley Walters who provided access to his email and other accounts. 3 who were contacted decline and share the facts. Then one of the accusers Ashley Morgan Smithline drops her case and shares why. Its been 4 years, the police have concluded their investigation a year ago perhaps longer the DA is sitting on those files. It's pathetic. In the 90s the socially conservative right hated him. Now its the so called left.

Saying cancel culture doesnt exist is disingenuous at the very least. Yeah acrions have consequences but the problem is the often times disproportional or lopsided public reaction to things that arent really a big deal. The rape stuff obviously thats criminal but heres the problem, how can anyone prove it happened 30 years after the fact? You cant just take someone on their word or a pinky promise and a prayer that they were assaulted and then persecute someone for it 3 decades later. It goes against every principle of the justice system. The whole "oh X person said some racist shit" is people being overly concerned bean flicking douche bags. Bottom line is that the criminal shit needs to be handled by the courts and the mean words need to be handled by not being an immature skid mark with too much time to care about what celebrities say when theyre drunk.

As for Marilyn Manson; never been a fan though have enjoyed a track here and there but . . . 1:09:11 what does this even mean??? Have a funny feeling there are far more people that have "indulged" in freaky-freaky stuff with likeminded consenting partners than haven't. Difference being I . . .I mean "they" aren't rich and famous, and someone of note, who can be pressured into whatever it is their accusers wish them to concede to. He might be the grimiest b*stard on the face of the planet but I've not yet seen/heard anything to confirm this except hearsay. As for music, films and games creating problems; I personally do not understand this. I have been watching horror films since the age of seven. 1981-82-ish we got our first VHS player and I've never looked back. I haven't killed anyone . . . yet. Hearing crap about death, murder, sacrifice, molestation, abuse, whatever; if it is in you, then you'll do it. Seeing and hearing it ain't gonna do sh*t to those without that mindset except entertain them. If your kid went out and shot something up, it has nothing to do with the CD, DVD or PS5 game they played that day. And if you didn't know they were capable of doing that sh*t, then that says more about your parenting than it does about the media that they use to entertain themselves. As cruel and heartless as that might sound. I know far too many people who grew up on metal music, horror films and blood-soaked games who haven't even shoplifted, let alone left an arcade, concert hall or a theatre filled with bodies just because of a film, a game or some track on a CD. F*ck sakes!!!
@Elora4459 ай бұрын
Yeah. My best friend is the kindest, most lovable person you will ever meet. Yet she plays really violent games when she needs to calm down. Personally, I have listened to all kinds of metal since I was a child. Yet I am the most calm non-violent person you know, more or less. Also prefer horror films. People are just so quick to judge others all the time. It's also easier to blame music or any other kind of media than your own parenting when your kid does violent things. Both I and my siblings were violent as kids. Guess why? We grew up in an unstable home where our parents always yelled at each other, day in and day out. When they divorced and our home became a lot more stable, we all calmed down, more or less.

Singer: I'm a fan of his work if not the man, but I can actually separate art from artist. As for his cancellation all I know is a lot of he said/ she said/ they said with no clear damning truth being put forth against him. Innocent until proven guilty, & I'd like to see his return to the industry. Manson: Not a fan, but I have nothing against the guy. His whole Alice Cooper on 11 routine practically painted a target on his back for the cancel movement, I just wasn't aware until now of the pissed off ex route to cancellation. In fact I didn't even know he was cancelled, I just thought he did the tired rock star shifts to acting thing & kinda faded away. Again innocent until proven guilty, & I have nothing against his continued career & success. Dick: What a fuckin' waste of skin. Not even that... if I was a major burn victim & needed a graft donor I'd refuse his skin if offered. Never thought he was the slightest bit funny & never understood how anyone else could. Only times he ever made me laugh was when he got the shit beat out of him. (Not a Lovitz fan either, but I give the man huge merit for doing what I & so many other fans of Phil's wanted to do). Yeah, I've given the others the benefit of doubt but Dick's own actions time & time & time again really have a way of erasing that doubt. And the way he's repeatedly burned 2nd, 3rd, 10th, 47th chances where so many much more talented individuals struggle to get even a first chance leave me without a shred of sympathy for him or desire to ever see/ hear from him again.

I knew exactly what i was doing and i felt like i was mature enough to make the choices i wanted to make with the adult males I was partnering with (yes i have a type even to this day i prefer older)..... I am not making excuses for Bryan Singer and his attraction to younger guys but I think people forget that at 17 us guys (most of us want it) and last time I checked at least in Australia the age of consent is 16...... i respect that.others may feel differently.... but I believe that consenting adults should be able to do what they want in the bedroom
