I fully adjusted getting up 3 hours earlier to work out in 4 days with no incremental adjustments. Day 1 and 2 were quite exhausting. Day 3 I laid in bed all day completely sapped of all energy and with vertigo and a splitting headache. Day 4 I was fully adjusted, having gone "cold turkey" with a 3 hr earlier bedtime and wake up time 4 days before.

It’s true and simple. I used to be a “night owl.” I knew it wasn’t a healthy way of approaching things. One day I decided to wake up 5am. I knocked out at 11ish that night. Then I woke up again at 5, and then knocked out by 10:30. That’s been my new schedule for 5 years. I love seeing the sunrise and getting stuff done while everyone else is sleeping. Oddly, it also changed my attitude from being reactive to things to being proactive.

Very true. 3am has a lot of strong meaning in different spiritual ways. Make what you want with it. It is a very creative and free time, especially when being well rested enough. The vast majority are not awake and there seems to be a clarity in the airwaves that is very energizing.

@@noahcarver6072 Science doesnt have”its limits”, either its scientifcally backed or it isnt. If we have something we cant prove that it works after thousands of years of being used, it most likely doesnt work. There is no reason other than preference to wake up at 3am vs waking up 6-7am. Doesnt make you a more hardcore person, it just means we have different routines.
@noahcarver6072
@noahcarver6072 Жыл бұрын
@@adamostman3509 I agree the time doesn't make one superior or hardcore, whatever cycle works is what works. I don't think I was suggesting differently. I've had a few memorable, sober, creative moments waking up at 3. Its not a common occurance, or goal of mine. But what is scientifically considered true, tends to change. 50 years ago, 20 years ago, 10 years ago, the science changes. Look at all the brilliant science over the last three years, how many contradictions the scientific "authorities" have spewed out. Science is not the final end-all answer, its an orginized means of continually unlocking the secrets of how things work. I don't believe there's any true finality in science, regarding lots of different things. Especially depending on how far one breaks things down. There are things spouted true by science that don't work. There are things that work that science doesn't explain, either by lack of study or lack of understanding. I respect science but personally I think one puts all their trust and faith in science at their own risk. For example if someone tells me that they believe unerringly what scientists like Faudci tells us, I say try harder. To touch on the metaphysical, there is a good deal of scientific research in the physiological effects of meditation and Tai chi on the body and brain, same with a healthy circadian rhythm. I'm getting on the bandwagon of early rising, and it's a personal choice, not something egotistical to be better than others.

Because it’s about getting ahead of the day. Let’s say you start work at 9am like most people, if you get up at 6am you can work out, read, study, clean etc whatever you need to do. If you get up at 8am, that’s not happening. Sure, you can try and do that stuff later, but now you have to contend with work and people wanting things from you. In the evenings is when family, social etc happens, so it’s very unreliable to allocate daily disciplines to that time, but nobody needs you at 6am, so you can fully focus on the things you need to do every day at that time. Either you start ahead of the day or the day starts ahead of you.

I do shift work so my schedule changes weekly. Sometimes the "morning" for me is 3pm. I don't have the luxury of choosing when I want to wake up. I get home and try to get my 8 hours. All that matters is that you get stuff done in your day no matter when you do it.

@Evil Eddy yeah I work on call as a truck driver, average of 4 days a week. Any hour of the day I have to be ready to answer my phone and go to work. I workout in the mornings on my day off but sometimes I just go right back to bed afterwards lol.

I’m not ashamed to admit. It took me a few months to get into this habbit. Started getting up at 6:30, then 6 then 5:30. It took me a few weeks of just getting used to getting out of bed at 5am to get to the gym at 5:45. I started once or twice a week, then upped it to 3-4. Now I routinely wake up at 5, gym at 5:45 for 4 weekdays. I feel pretty good, considering I used to struggle to wake up at 7am.

Two problems with that... Firstly, I sleep through my alarm clocks. Secondly, I might be dead tired but still struggle to gall asleep for at least 3 hours.

Starting tomorrow. Man in the Army I was getting up at 0500 every morning and going to bed at like 21-2200. Got out of the habit after 3 kids and everything.

This is something that I’ve been working on in my life… I’m only 23 years old but I had a nocturnal sleep schedule basically going to sleep when the sun rises. But now I’ve been waking up at 6 am every day and going to sleep a lot earlier and I feel so much healthier

Bed by 9 up at 330 7 days a week. No alarm. 💪🙌 and before I did shift work for 14 years, it can be done.

Every video that seeks to teach you to wake up earlier, should instead ignore the waking up aspect and focus completely on the going to bed aspect. Go to bed early, consistently, and you will wake up earlier.

1000% works. Very simple. I have 3 young kids, a wife, work, 2 dogs and a farm. I have come to absolutely love mornings. I wake up at 4:45 and go to Jiu jitsu at 5:30 or do a group workout with the same guys. Just trade that last pointless 2 hours of your night for an awesome and purposeful morning! No brainer!

I stayed up for 4 days straight once for a final exam/project week (incompetent group mates so I had to finish like 3 projects all by myself) and then had the best 18 hour sleep of my life. I was ruined mentally for like the next month or so, get your sleep guys
