Awesome videos! I have watched every other video I could possibly find on installing bow headliners because I have a 1970 Cougar Xr7 that came with no headliner left in it(only bows). Honestly, yours have helped me the MOST and gave me the confidence I needed to tackle this job!!! Very informative and Super Helpful and you left out nothing and have helped me through any complications I have encountered along the way, or may encounter. Thank you So Much!! Have the front and back pinch welds glued so far(as of 3:00am this morning) and am going to tackle the rest today. I am sure I will be coming back to your videos throughout the day….keep the excellent help coming because I’m sure many others have benefited just like me!! 👍

Great job Barry, so many things to account for before committing to glue or even cutting the headliner. Once again I have the utmost respect for the line workers in the late 60's as it really was a craft to assemble these cars. But it also really supports "built on Monday or built on Friday" cars as so much is left to the skill and patience of the workers. Back then it was 40% parts and 60% assembly, today it is 80% pre assembled parts and 20% assembly on the line.

I put in my headliner, I had all the screws in place to 'feel them' - now I'm just too paranoid to actually cut where I "think" I feel the screws.... nerve racking.

What type of clips are you using to install the headliner?

I'm just using short pieces of the old welting. I just cut them into 1"-3" pieces.

can the headliner be replaced without removing the glass?

That would be very difficult. The gasket helps hold it all in place.
