Beautiful. And yes, that's the original Rory's Stratocaster, ladies and gentlemen.

I saw Rory play it at Derby Assembly Rooms about 78 I'd guess and Joe(don't think he had it then) at Sheffield Leadmill 2008. Both will stay in my memory forever.

I saw Rory Galiger play that guitar back around 1972! Of course it looked a little different then, but still sounds as good!

My very favorite “Sloe Gin” performance is the one that Joe did at his 2009 RAH concert. Love, love, love that one!!! This is very nice, too! ❤️.¸¸.☆ Actually, I cut my “blues” teeth on that 2009 performance about 4 years ago. That’s how I learned to love the blues! Didn’t know the genre before that. Heard Joe doing “Bird on a Wire”, when KZbin kept suggesting the 2009 RAH "Sloe Gin" performance. At first listen, and for many listens after that, I wasn’t quite sure what to make of this new thing (to me), the blues…but anyone, including my super naive self, could see Joe’s guitar skill. And his singing was great, too! And so, that’s how I came to fall in love with the blues!

A bit jealous here mate, as a big Rory fan I'm just to young to have seen Rory perform live. But Saw Joe play multiple times and then to watch him pull out Rory's strat for Sloe gin and absolutely nailing it.. That's Special

A little bit of Rory lives on through Joe's covering Cradle Rock. Joe is such a great musician and his different themed tours are all awesome. I was lucky enough years ago to have seen both Joe and Rory in small clubs. 50-60 people only showed when Joe was with Kenny and Eric. What a show, equal high energy as Rockpalast.

So... it's true that sound comes from the fingers. You can say that you feel Rory Gallagher spirit sleeping in orphaned Strato but the sound goes straight from Joe's soul and touch. It's just fresh spirit of music.

Sloe gin, sloe gin Tryin' to wash away the pain inside Well, I'm sick and I'm all done in And I'm standin' in the rain And I feel like I'm gonna cry I'm so damn lonely And I ain't even high I'm so damn lonely And I feel like I wanna die Mayday, Mayday I've been shot down over stormy sea Well, I feel like I'm driftin' away Can't seem to get a grip on me Now I can't even try I'm so damn lonely And ain't even high I hate to go home alone But what else is new I'm so damn lonely I hate to go home alone But what else is new I'm so damn lonely You stand there bleedin' People pass me by No matter if you live No matter if you die Sloe gin, sloe gin Tryin' to wash away the pain inside Well, I'm sick and I'm all done in I'm standin' in the rain And I feel like I'm gonna die I'm so damn lonely And ain't even high I'm so damn lonely Sloe gin, honey Baby, come and get the best of me
