Yup. Brady may have more rings but had he played in montanas era he,d be lucky to have 2. Brady was a little primal Donna CRY BABY compared to Joe Cool. Montana would take a vicious hit, get up and smile and throw a TD. 4 super bowls , 4 wins , no interceptions thrown in any of them .HANDS DOWN THE GOAT.

@Luquita Fowler • I agree with most everything that you said except that the hardest hitting era ever was around 1969-1979. The softening of the league had begun to increase scoring and safety. Still Joe is the GOAT 🐐 the best QB that I've ever seen and I've been watching since I was ten in 1965. I'm not a niner fan, I'm part of Raider Nation‽

There's a story of how the domestic cat got the M on their foreheads. The story goes that when baby Jesus was crying one night Mother Mary prayed to God saying to please help her to care for His holy child and please lead her in His ways. And a domestic cat appeared and got in the cradle with baby Jesus and Jesus stopped crying. And because of this Mother Mary touched the cat on the forehead and blessed the cat and that's why they have an M on their foreheads.

@Hector Rodriguez In a perfect world, Joe Montana could have won in 1981, 1983, 1984, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993 and 1994. But the world is not perfect. There was a controversial call against Ronnie Lott in the 1983 NFCCG. They fell apart in the Divisional Game against Minnesota in 1987. Joe Montana got hurt in 1990. If he hadn't, I'm pretty sure he would have continued to win throughout 1991 and 1992. We all saw what he did in Kansas City in 1993 and 1994.

Surprisingly long throws so accurate that the receiver doesn't have to break stride! I love Elway and Marino both and they had stronger arms, but look at their 45 to 60 yard throws and they are not as accurate as Montana's. The receivers of course caught the throws, but they weren't so perfect as the receiver had to break stride.

It was an absolute privilege to watch this man play football. It’s one of those things where you don’t have to embellish, make things up, or be hyperbolic in any way. He really was that good. Downright magical, particularly when it counted. He was able to not only rise to the occasion, but to seize it as only the greatest of them all can do. Best overall talent at quarterback I've ever seen. Joe Montana could kill you from in the pocket or out of the pocket. He could kill you with his legs when he rushed the football. Look how many unbelievably accurate throws are depicted in these highlights that are between 40 and about 65 yards. Look how many threading the needle, level passes that he threw when he absolutely had to zip the ball in there. How can anyone say this guy had a weak arm? An effortless, extremely smooth throwing motion that made it look effortless, yes, but a weak arm, no way!! Total package. Best ever for me.

He was pretty much the original GOAT. Brady grew up Idolizing Montana. Brady even said that Momtama was the GOAT 9. If you just put away stats, mvps, and all that good stuff and just watch em both on tape, Montana's just better to the human eye. 8. Montana never lost a superbowl. Brady lost 3 times to eli manning and nick foles. Both arnt good qbs. 7. In 8 YEARS, joe one 4 superbowls. It took tom 15 years to even tie montana. If he played in the same time span as Brady, god knows how much more he could of one. 6. He went against Boomer esiasen, and anderson who were decent and DESTORYED elway and dan marino who both are considered GOATS. Yes donovan, matt, russel and kurt were good, but no one will remember goff and delhome in 20 years. 5. Playoff qb ratings Joe: 95.8 Tom: 89 4. Brady has more comebacks. But joe almost almost mever let himself in that situation (including the superbowl) in the first place. I would rather have a qb who keeps the game in his pocket. 3. He was called Joe Cool for a reason. He never threw fits at the refs, never got rattled, and never showed weakness. Brady got up from a couple hits before but he sometimes bitches like a little girl. 2. He played in a much tougher era for qbs. He had 40,551 pass years and 273 and 117. God knows what numbers he would of put up now days. He got hit hard, and i mean hard in the knees and everywhere in general. When brady would even get pushed (like in the championship game) the refs will very often through the flag for unnecessary roughness. 1. He was never involved in a cheating scandle in the NFL. Heres a perfect example. Pete Rose was considered an all time great in the MLB. Then he was caught in a cheating scandle and he was removed from the hall of fame. I have even more reasons as well. Im pretty sure you habe your owm reasons. But heres the thing In my opinion, i think joes the best. But thats just my poinion amd that wont change.

@@perpetualnegativity9862Got benched because they had no reason to start him. He was getting older and they had a young quarterback prospect (Steve Young) who wasnt playing until then. He got hurt in the Championship game against the Giants and never was the same. The following year he got hurt with an elbow injury for tge year. Meanwhile steve young was kicking ass. Then young got hurt and the 49rs finished 10-6 and missing the playoffs. By the time he had recovered they had moved on from him with steve young. Montana was still good. It was just more like an older experienced player handing the torch to the young qb with potential. Also happened to brett farve and arron rogers. Might happen to ben rothilisberger soon with hodges if he plays good. Same thing, ben is still good, but he is old. The only reason the same didnt happen to brady was because Kraft traded brisset and garroplo away wanting a 40 year old qb instead. Now brady hasnt been good lately. Just imagine if they had garropolo or brisset. Happened to the 70s steelers. Passed on marino and they didnt have a successor qb. The steelers became irrelevant for 25 years. It will happen to New England unless they move on from Brady (Who has been playing for 20 years) and draft a new QB. If not, brady will retire soon and they will have no QB. No one really knows who the patriots back up QB is right now. If yhe back up sucks (he probably will) they would be absolutly fucked and become irrelevant.

@@perpetualnegativity9862 - Since you remember as much as you've typed, then you might recall this as well: Players BITD, wanted to play in SF, even if it meant 'riding the pine'. I guess you can call it the Eddie D, and Walsh factor. Everything about the club was 1st Class. People love to hate on the Niners, but let's be real. There's a reason Niner Fans -- especially the older crop -- are so passionate about the team, and their memories of it. The 49ers, set so many trends and football first, and there is no debating that. They as a football franchise, are the reason the NFL had to institute a 'Salary Cap'. Even after that, the team still won another SB, and continued their winning ways. It wasn't until the end of the 2002 season, when they lost to Tampa Bay in the playoffs, that their reign ended. Tampa Bay, then went on to win the SB. If my math is correct, that's a 21 year reign of great football … of which only New England has equalled 🤔

19:11...to put those numbers in context, as if they weren't absurd enough as is. The Vikings, who the 49ers smoked 41-13 in the divisional round, had the #1 defense in the NFL. The Broncos, who the 49ers destroyed 55-10 in what is still the highest margin of victory in any Super Bowl, were the #3 defense and the #1 scoring defense in the NFL. And Montana averaged 44.5 points in games against them. Only one other QB in NFL history has beaten two top 3 defenses in one Super Bowl run before or since...Tom Brady in 2001. His teams averaged 11.5 points on offense in those two victories (10 vs Pittsburgh, with 14 points coming on special teams, and 13 vs the St. Louis Rams, with seven points coming on Ty Law's pick-six).

Montana was a badass, such a precise throwing and smart QB with alot of great talented team mates, and a hell of a head coach.

I’m a relatively new 49ers fan. I always wondered who was at the helm for those Super Bowl wins in the 80s. This makes a lot of sense now lol.

The precision & mobility of Rodgers w/ the patience & will of Brady. Won 4 SBs in a decade in a physical era playing against legends & legendary defenses (80s Eagles defense w/ Reggie White, 80s Giants defense w/ LT, 80s Bears defense, and beat Marino & Elway in SBs). Never lost a SB. Never threw an INT in the SB. Won 2 rings w/o Rice, in case that matters. Yeah, still MY G.O.A.T. 👑
