I don't mean to get dark here, but if he would have died at his height on the Stern show... he might have become something of a legend. Kind of like Cobain who timed his death just right to become a legend. Just thinking unpopular thoughts out loud. Don't mind me.

In the end, my 3rd staph infection entered my spine and after 2 surgeries- 92 days in hospital getting antibiotics every 4 hours iv. Learning to walk again was a bitch. Nothing can ever compare to the high of herion or the thrill of the lifestyle. But...nothing compares to the lows of withdrawal and the jails or institutions or coffins that horse is going to take you to. Thank you Artie and Joe. I watch these podcasts and uncle joey too. I think he (Rogan) sort of owed Artie one -- their previous podcast (#618, 2015?) was Lange, clearly wasted out of his mind, slurring about "so what should we talk about to fill this dead air, I can name every Super Bowl match-up since 1970," and Joe awkwardly trying to express his concern, "Artie, how you doing, it's okay, you're not a bad guy, I want to help" -- not only a sad listen, but a real low point broadcast-wise. So proud of you. Keep it up. If you relapse don't make it some big thing or you'll fuck yourself psychologically. Artie's viewpoint is great - treat it like "I'll probably never use again" because that lets you keep going just because you know if you do it again you'll feel good for a short amount of time then feel *miserable* for all the time after that, and you use that instead of quitting because of some personal mandate you made like a New Years' Resolution. Anyway, I'm ranting, sorry about that. Just hope you are doing well. I'm on a similar trajectory, I quit last November and it has been a rough road, but I'm so happy I did it.

Exercise is the only way I know to stay clean. I either go to the gym after work and get flooded with endorphins and dopamine that way or I stop for a beer and other substances. I'm a much better person after the gym instead of dope
@noahsmith9025
@noahsmith9025 4 ай бұрын
Man I have to get serious about this myself. I used to be addicted to working out in high school but became a heroin addict by the time I graduated. Now I'm 39 and have been on opiates for 20+ years. The last 10 only methadone tho. I've been stable on a lower dose the last 3 years and finally been able to not fuck around trying to take extra to get high. I'm not overweight or anything like that but I'm feeling my age HARD. If I don't commit to getting in shape and seriously tapering off I know the rest of my life will not be fun.
@vincedidiana5781
@vincedidiana5781 4 ай бұрын
@@noahsmith9025 You can do it, brother. Just start slow with the exercise. And if you have that addictive personality, which it appears you do, you will get hooked. I get annoyed because there are days i don’t want to exercise, but I know it’s a MUST in my formula to stay clean. Be good and best of luck. If I can do it, anyone can.
@vincedidiana5781

@@papialeman Likewise. It’s annoying having to exercise everyday, but for me to stay clean, it’s a must. I’m such a routine person now that if I don’t exercise, I feel I have failed. And for me, failure is an awful feeling because for too long in life, I failed miserably! Good luck!

He has never been genuine. Part of his problem is his inability to be honest with himself. Whenever someone on Stern's show would point out Artie's lies, he exploded. Whenever someone there questioned Artie's bullshit, he would threaten to beat the shit out of them outside the studio. He wears his mistakes like they're badges of honor. Listen to the joy in his voice when he talks about his fuck-ups. if he really wanted to change his life direction, he'd walk away from cameras and microphones for a decade and avoid all interviews. He won't. He's seduced by the spotlight. It's only a matter of time, alas...
