I grew up in Union City and Jersey City next to North Bergen, NJ. I can relate to alot of Joey's stories. You grew up on the streets and yes everyone watched over the neighborhood kids. It was so much different in the 60's and 70's.

Same upbringing here, inside house we spoke ONLY Armenian and outside spoke American till our hearts content. Forty years later i thank my parents for doing it and now I speak four languages and they both speak six languages each and some of my friends can barely handle American. Joey is a national treasure.
