A lot of you are talking about how joe seemed unappreciative to his guests “gift” but what I believe to behappening here is a marketing strategy designed as a “gift”. Although the actual thought behind this may have been positive and his guest thought of it as an gift, the main reason for this is to promote the whiskey brand. Evident by his constant use of “you can give it to your guests” and “we’ll put the JRE logo on it” he is essentially attempting to partner his brand with the JRE without having to give joe millions of dollars for it. Instead some free whiskey. Joe instantly picked up on this and might be the reason for his cold approach to it all. However if the JRE has taught me one thing it’s to try and view situations from all perspectives. I believe his guest had positive intentions but his brand execs likely were using it as an opportunity to promote the brand or Joe was just being an ass 😂

He didn’t just do a random plug on his show. He did an entire infomercial without even asking him if it was okay in advance. If he would have asked him before hand it might had been different. As you said, he disguised it as a gift and thought he was being slick. That’s the worst part about it. When someone tries to obviously manipulate you like that, it is a huge insult to your intelligence. I’m surprised Joe didn’t call him out on it.

That’s not a “gift” he’s working for that whisky company and if he can get Joe to say which one he likes the most they can say “Joe approved the second drank” It’s clearly a sneaky ad which is why Joe responded the way he did. He’s not being snarky he’s just agitated. I’m confused how people can’t see this

Because this is marketing--- they just dumped a "deal" into his lap without him knowing and he's not too happy about it. He normally gets paid for ad deals like this-- but instead, all he gets for this one is free booze. I bet he will talk shit about it later on another podcast..... or--- I would bet good money that he already knew-- because this is a big thing and I don't think they would do this without asking him first. So him acting like "what is it, tell me' -- his just him playing into the bit--- he knew it was coming. it could be either way.

You people hating on Joe in the comments is probably why he left this platform.... He's constantly praised and ranted/raved about Buffalo Trace on his podcasts and is one of the only whiskeys he drinks.... He was just being honest in the fact that he couldn't taste the difference. This was just a clip, so we can't see how the rest of the conversation went. For you people saying he was dismissive or ungrateful are just ignorant and pre disposed. Nowhere did Joe seem disrespectful or nonchalant about the gift. He was probably caught off guard with it...and then probably felt bad that he couldn't distinguish between the 4...
