Joe Root is a class act. He wouldn't accept it here but he knows he did a mistake by going through those ramp shots and reverse sweeps. My point is: a person like Duckett may want to play those shots because he is not at all confident in his defence. But a Joe Root, who can score centuries casually, need not play those kind of shots. And, somewhere I like him when he plays orthodox cricket it brings beauty to orthodox classy cricket. We love test cricket in India and we love the classy cricket. Not a big fan of crazy shots!! I honestly don't think England achieved a major change under Bazball period. They have been a bit lucky with that Lyon's injury in the Ashes. To be honest, England is measured against Australia and India only, and they didn't beat either of them. You don't praise them because they played well against WI and Pakistan.
@jtfc72868 ай бұрын
I think it’s circumstantial. Against Bumrah in this test, it was a bad decision and the timing of it was wrong. The shot as a whole is not an issue - it’s a means of manipulating the field and throwing the seamer off their line. Works against a Josh hazlewood type bowler who bowls a consistent line and length - not too smart against someone who varies pace/line and bowls yorkers
@bidhanchandraganthia93518 ай бұрын
@@jtfc7286Actually It's the low bounce from the pitch did the trick that it had gone to the hand of fielder but In bouncy pitch it might gone above the fielder.

@jtfc72868 ай бұрын
@@bidhanchandraganthia9351yeah exactly - a bad decision given the circumstances, but my point stands that bumrah is not ever the bowler to do that to. It’s a premeditated shot, and you need to be very confident that they’re not gonna pitch the ball up which bumrah does a fair amount compared to some bowlers

ECB need to create a management team to beat australia in australia and india in india. Both need different set of players. In india you need short stocky batsman who can crawl near ground. In australia you need Tall batsman who can hit the ball on top of the bounce. Also need mentally strong players who can take verbal abuse. if you take weak players they will choke.
