The King….of all Guitar Faces! I like the Eagles. I love Joe. Wife took me to see Eagles a couple years ago (the Deacon and Vince iteration, and yes they are very good). We get there, and she asks me if I am having a good time. I said, “an awesome time, but can I admit I really am jacked to see Joe Walsh, a true guitar god.”

Walsh didn't join The Eagles until December 1975, not 1974. The Eagles made "One Of These Nights" in 1975 without him.

Glenn Frey has famously told the story about how he and a drug dealer friend of his were flying down the freeway (holding... BIG time), and Frey's buddy mentioned the title of the song while on the freeway, and the phrase stuck with Frey.

When a musician joins a band with writing skills, some bands may feel ALL of his or her writing is now owned by the band when he or she may want those songs for future solo career or wish to sell them to other bands.

well he DID join a BAND... and with being in a band, comes compromise and being a part of a team, even if that "team" was run by two dictators. If they 'clipped his wings' then Joe allowed them to, in between solo albums.

Dead on ! Joe was a great success. Eagles were a unique and fantastic sound. But combine the two and you just had "The James Gang" part two. I loved the original country rock Eagles. For me, "Hotel California" is nauseating and the end of the Eagles.

Eagles are thieves and scavengers.Joe was a professional musician with many albums and hits.Joe should have stayed solo.He was awesome on his own.James gang kicked ass too.

Eagles are not thieves - fans are buying the tickets. Nobody holding guns to their heads. Opportunists, perhaps. Joe continued to make solo albums during and after the Eagles so he's hardly a victim.
