God I loved the Adventure games. A video game experience, a decently interesting story and seeing some new stuff too I mean the Rutans? In my Matt Smith era? And an explorable TARDIS? Top tier stuff.

i really dug this game! its obviously full of problems and i could never recommend to anyone who wasnt a who fan unlike, say, shadow of mordor, but i really do think it doesnt deserve all the negativity its gotten. i liked it so much i played it 3 times to find all the collectables and its motivated to make a video about it. whether i actually do that is yet to be seen but it definitely says something about the games worth imo

I had the misfortune to play this on Nintendo Switch. I say "play", but the game went out of its way to make that near-impossible. From game-breaking glitches where items refused to spawn, to audio and subtitles massively out of sync; to cut scenes not loading so you've no idea why certain parts are happening; to darkness so dark you actively need to adjust the lighting to see the way ahead; to frame rate drops so bad when hunting for the first and second time crystals that I quite literally had motion sickness; to no menu/mission select so if you miss a collectable it's gone for good; to a graphical downgrade that renders ugly parts uglier still; to oversensitive controls; to the game not being able to even run the title sequence properly... Blimey. Genuinely one of the very worst games I've played on the console. I want to be kind to it, but I just can't. I'm sure it plays better elsewhere, but on the Switch? Irredeemable.

I'd love to see a video on Doctor Who: Return to Earth on Wii, and not just to watch you suffer playing it. There are few things quite like it and I'm sure you'd have a really entertaining take on it. The DS companion game Evacuation Earth was perfectly mediocre though at least.

I hope the next game isn’t the new gay Doctor humping the Cyberman to death or getting them trapped in a rainbow. In America, we are sick and tired of “The Message”. Everyone doesn’t need to be represented 100% of the time all the time. When you try to please everyone you end up pleasing no one. I watched the first few episodes of the new Doctor, and then abruptly canceled my Disney subscription Disney ruins everything.

I liked the game itself but I had to restart it 3 times because my save file kept disappearing. The game would remember all the collectibles I’d found, but not my progress through the levels. Then some levels I had to restart because it would glitch the object I need out of existence, and at the beginning of every level the frame rate would commit suicide… it just doesn’t quite WORK, even down to the little details like using 10’s sonic screwdriver only to find that it lights up yellow instead of blue. If they ever fix the game I’d like to go back and play it properly.

@@Joe_Brennan_ it's been fun nonsense since 1963! The Angel ep was ok but personally I preferred ep. 3 - the "confusing" one, apparently;) It's all very Division-heavy but if it wasn't, we'd only complain that stuff was being left unresolved. Be keen to hear your honest opinions - once the whole season is done, I'm guessing?

Hi Joe - great video. I've been umming and ahhing about getting the game and this is making me lean more towards it. Question. Did you get it on steam or a console? I don't have a PS4 but have a controller that I've been using for playing some PC games with a controller and was wondering if the Steam version allows for this. Would be the final clincher for getting it!

I was a bit disappointed by this game (mostly my own fault) but they were advertising it as being 50% Edge of Time port and 50% brand new and then that changed to 75% New and 25% old but that wasn't really the case. The Tenth Doctor was also a huge part of the marketing only for him to show up for about 20 mins. I also encountered a bug on the Angel section where they just didn't kill me or move so I didn't enjoy that section as much as everyone else. I did enjoy quite a lot of it but couldn't help feeling slightly disappointed

I'd love to hear you talk more about various Doctor Who games Lego Dimensions could be super interesting, and I never played any of those Matt Smith DS games, so I'd be interested in hearing your take on those I think the most interesting topic could be a retrospective on the old Doctor Who flash games from the Davies era, I feel like those things really helped carry hype for the show at the time, with them being the only option for Doctor Who gaming in the late 2000's
@Joe_Brennan_2 жыл бұрын
Lego Dimensions is an absolute mammoth. I was hoping to make a video on it but the project grew too massive. I’ll revive it at some point but there’s just so much to cover. In the mean time, I might make one focussing on the Doctor who stuff

I wonder if modding would be possible (at least for the pc version) to upload in some better models in the future 🤔 I usually get really cybersick from gaming (apart from some games that are easy on the eyes), but it's been a while since I started considering buying it 🙈

mostly enjoyed this game for what it was despite its flaws. played both and i definitely had a more memorable time with the VR game, but this is genuinely one of the best Doctor Who games we have right now. that being said my most nitpickiest gripe is that the title sequence is very weird and kinda takes me out of the experience. not the biggest issue in the world, but it is an iconic part of the show and is one of the first things you see in the game so can leave a bad first impression
