Tyler doesn't sound like the grumpy old rapper... Tyler isn't saying anything DIFFERENT than he used to; he's just saying it DIFFERENTLY. He's always spoken about being yourself, and not falling into what the masses want you to do. That doesn't mean you CAN'T sound like someone else, as long as you're still being YOU. You can't even tell some of these so-called rappers apart, these days, because they're literally just copying each other. He's simply pointing out that a lot of artists now are sounding like each other because they see that particular wave as the only way to be relevant, and it's ruining music, period...

Yes and no. Lil Dicky always been himself. He didn't do what Post did. But as for his show that was his type of sense of humor and style. Both shows showed the audience the awkwardness of fame, but from two different POVs. I can see how you can see it like Lil Dicky took the idea, but both shows stands on their own. And unlike Friends and Living Single, Atlanta is getting the credit and praise it deserves.

I been saying this as well. I’m 35 but I remember when YT people did there own thing in music with alternative rock like System of a Down or Linkin Park. Growing up people had their own style within their social circle. You had goth kids, hip hop kids, the Spanish kids lol. Nowadays everyone is just hip hop culture to the point where it confuses me because half the time as someone who grew up in the hood I can see through it. I didn’t know it was the good old days then, but it really was. Everyone was their own person.

There are some decent artists now but it’s the exception not the norm
