If your carrying a pack through deep water, and that's anything over a couple of inches deep (and yes, under the right circumstances you can drown in 2" of water, particularly if you are pinned face down) it is good practice to take the pack off and carry it over one shoulder. The reason being that if you step into a hole that results in you going under, or you lose your footing, the bag may flood and weigh you down. Under those circumstances you risk running out of air & drowning before you can free yourself from the bag.

leighrate that is good advice. We did what we felt comfortable when we assessed the depth and did take our packs off at times. Very sound advice though. Thanks for the comment

dudeman this trip was in the apalachicola National Forest. Also been to Ocala national forest a few times. I run classes in feb/March each year. I will post to Instagram next time it is scheduled. Thanks for watching

This is the hottest Bushcrafting channel by far, but I'm not sold on the swamp idea. As a Yankee, I think I would prefer Asian flu to a Florida swamp, but each to their own.

Your content is great!.... but you could use a better microphone...my phone is loud! And even with it all the way up you are pretty hard to hear....but other than that keep the kids coming man they are great!
