Chemtech is a basically a chemical technology that combines both machinery and potent chemicals to empower its users, obviously especially those, with chemtech augments, like Renni (chainsaw woman). "Thick thighs save lives." Joey spitting them facts! 🤣 There's no Shimmer in the Hex Core. The Hex Core is it's own thing. It's tied directly to pure magical energies. The green stuff is Chemtech. It's a cheap power source used by most Zaunite technology. It's been around way before Shimmer was a thing and is the foundation of most tech in Zaun (combined with steam hydraulics). That's why you see so many folks in Zaun with those tubes full of it running through them, and why so many of their cybernetic limbs have that green glow.

If anyone is wondering why the plot seems a bit fast as compared to before it is probably to give the idea in how fast conflicts escalate. Decisions aren't very clear, emotions are all over the place, loved ones suffer and war wastes no time. I suggest to watch each episode twice to absorb all information 👍. But holy moly the animation! 😩
