Lean into that. Keep him busy. My parents had me playing football, baseball, basketball and soccer year round. I was too busy and tired to get into any trouble. Then most of my friends that I’m still friends with 30 years later I met playing basketball. They love diagnosing boys with adhd because they run around but thats what little boys are supposed to do. The way school is designed now is catered more to women and how women learn and teach so when they see a 6 year old boy that likes to play and run and can’t stay still they’ll try to say something is wrong with him. But keep him in sports especially things like boxing so he can learn to defend himself and also learn discipline, self reliance and resilience and confidence

Don’t think this is it. I think it has more to do with your spine compressing, which happens over time regardless, but faster the earlier you start putting heavy loads on it

Weight lifting as a kid is all about control & form rather than slapping heavy weights on a child. I had my son lifting dumbbells & doing pushups at 3-4 years old & he’s growly tremendously both height & muscle wise

Except when it's the truth. Abusive and insecure parents will say that. There IS a rulebook for parenting. There IS a way to know without trial and error. Just parents don't like to hear that, because it requires effort and accountability.

I think what I heard that made the most sense is if you do weight lifting movements that compresses the spine like squats and overhead press, that stunts your growth.

Growth platelets, Cartilage breakdown in the areas of potential growth Specifically bad if doing overhead lifting or heavy squatting as it puts pressure on spinal chord areas of cartilage, fluid, platelets forming…. Excercise is great, resistance training good, weightlifting has to be done with all the above mentioned in mind (limited)

Just a heads up peeps...just from what I learned in medical school and reading xrays. If you google epihyseal plates in children, Lifting "strenuous" weight or resistance can prematurely fuse those plates that are all over your body, not just your knees and trunk. You can see this the most in Olympians who do calisthenics based movements in their sport. Usually, they are relatively short. (Could be coincidence and not cause, but i wouldnt risk it lol)

It stimulates Growth Hormones. With the right nutrition and rest, a kid will be fine. I know dudes that started lifting younger than recommended and grew to be 6’3” and 6’5”. Building muscle along with movements that decompress and stretch the muscles and bones promote growth/ lengthening.

As an athlete all my life. Most kids I knew that started lifting early before middle school ended up being short less than 5'8". They were crazy strong in HS but short. Correlation doesn't mean causation but it is interesting. Amon Ra's situation is another interesting example.
