If you've never read John's autobiography "My life, in & out of the rough" you're missing out. The dude won 2 majors while drunk, lost all his winnings at the casino, had a gun held to his head by his drunk father, & is somehow still alive. He is a legend. Even Tiger said John has more raw talent than he will ever have.

His son isn't something to laugh at either...A "more refined", image of his old man...Minus all the years of abuse, like John endured. If he did anything right during his lifetime, raising his son not to make the same mistakes is it!!! Plays on the same college team. Def one to watch for on tour...

There was an ESPN 30 for 30 on him where he talked about his life. No joke, I think he wore that same American flag blazer in it too lol. I don't remember much of it since it wasn't that good compared to other stuff ESPN did, but it had so many memorable lines. The first was when he talked about eating chocolate like crazy the weekend he won the British Open lol. He just started listing all these chocolate things he ate as they showed highlights of him just annihilating the golf ball at that tournament rofl. the other memorable line was when he said he was gonna keep gripping it and ripping it and that he was also going to grip it and sip it. Funniest shit ever lol.

Ive finally figured out why I like John Daily so much. Hes never tried to be someone else or tried to fit in the golf circle. He is himself and he doesn’t care what other think. If not but just the mere fact even through all of his bad habits and non typical etiquette he was admired and loved and the key here is to just be honest and genuine and life will fall into place. He is forthcoming with his down falls and just tells the truth wherever that may lead him. It’s of no significance to him how you take him. It just goes to show that you can be an addict smoke 2-3 packs of cigarettes a day. Live hungover most of the time and with all that negativity. You can still be someone special whom others respect. Just by being an honest and genuine person. Never underestimate just how far the truth can take you in life. No matter what your being truthful about. You will absolutely never ever find a situation where a lie is better than telling the truth. Even that one time out of a hundred when telling a lie in your mind would just make everyones life easier in the short term. Think again. Tell the truth always and it will pay off dividends in the end. 👌

Good post, and well said....I can't speak for anyone else but for me personally, I value honesty over anything else in terms of personality/character traits...It can't be bought, sold, or rarely even taught. But it can be seen from a mile away. I've always told people I'd rather be an honest asshole than a fake nice guy any day. You said "just be honest and genuine and life will fall into place" and it sounds cliche, but that gave me goosebumps because I genuinely know it to be true.👍

From my experience it really works excellently! It doesnt even need to be a full hit. With potent shrooms 2-3 small ones will still make a clear difference. It will be a few hour cost rumbling moment around rest time, but afterwards its just calm and you feel amazing and gain your freedom. Psilocybin is different dudes, its the only "treatment" I would recommend to someone who genuinely wants to get better. There is no addiction, withdrawal, or negative side effects. It's just pure healing., far more effective than any anti-depressant. You can thank me later

I can relate, I’m a very functioning alcoholic. I worked at my job for 2 years sober and NEVER could get a promotion. Now that I’m drinking everyday, I’m getting promotions up the ass and people respect me more. It’s so fucking ass backwards and it sounds insane but it’s true. You feel more confident and loose that it allows you to not give a fuck and just work .

It took a long time for me to realize that my golfing was destroying my ability to drink. I knew I had to retire, something had to change. I often think about how much more I could have drank if I’d given up golfing sooner.

He meant 0.37 or 0.40. Nobody on Earth has ever had a BAC of 1.0% and been alive. I have blown a 0.30 before and it was in the top 3 drunkest nights of my life. So drunk I was lying in the grass holding on to the grass...so I wouldnt fall off the edge of the Earth.

That's not what it means. Look it up, .3 means .3% alcohol. not 30%. John Daly mention 4 that means .4% which is very high.

I can relate, (and validate) what he says. My best round of golf ever was 4 under, I drank a twelve pack on the front 9, then shot -6 on the back, coming back from my +2 on the front. I also played pool. I got an invite to play in the BCA tournament in Las Vegas. After losing my first 2 matches, my buddies lined up bottles of Miller Lite and shots of Jose for me. I went undefeated for the next 3 and a half days.

We all have our vices and skeletons we’re not proud of, but try to do better every day. I was watching live golf on TV when John Daily was an amateur golfer. John contributed his total pur$e to a fan in attendance who I believe was hit by lightning. Class act John.
