18hp Briggs & Stratton Vanguard V-Twin.
In today's video, we look at a John Deere 316 that's had an engine swap!
My customer said it wasn't running right & mentioned he had to leave the choke
on, in order to keep the engine running.
The problem with using this engine in this particular application, is the
placement of the engine itself.
Because of the rotation of the engine, it needed to be mounted backwards,
which places the front of the engine (Where the carburetor is) near the center
console, instead of near the Hood (At the front of the engine).
To remove this carburetor, we would need to remove the intake manifold & in
order to do this, we would need to remove the engine.
However, we were able to solve this issue using a couple basic tools!
The issue was a clogged Pilot Jet, a clogged Main Jet & also a sticking Fuel
Shut-off Solenoid!
