Was fortunate to be at this Tribute Concert with my two kids. I was never able to take them to a JD concert, as they were too young. I did take them to this concert......center stage, 3rd row! It was unbelievable!!!

I was born just 13 days after John - 12 January 1944. I have loved music all my life, being in a choir on radio at 8 years old. I first became aware of John around 1970 but it was in 1973 I heard the words ' he was born in the summer of his 27th year' ............ it seemed to light my life being of that same age - from that day on I was captured. I love all his music and his absolute talent. Though from New Zealand I was lucky enough to see him live on four occasions - sadly, the fifth time was to be at Mission Vineyards in Napier New Zealand in February 1998. Of course, this did not happen due to his passing. 22 years on I still miss him and his music

Just returned from a tribute concert in Aspen celebrating John's life, 20 years after his passing. Hearing an orchestral presentation of his music is pretty cool, as was the tribute concert in Aspen. Still, there is no one who can do JD music like JD!

First cassette tape I ever bought myself (HS Sophomore) was his greatest hits collection (1990). Jesus in the Gospels say that what comes out of a man's mouth reveals what's in his heart. Rightly so with JD.

He came to my elementary school in Jacksonville, FL back in mid 80s. I was in the 5th grade at the time. I didn't know why we were all sent to the cafaturiem and on stage was this blonde guy with glasses and an acoustic guitar sitting on a stool. I didn't know who he was. Then he began to sing Puff the Magic Dragon, Leaving on a Jet Plane, then Country Roads. Everyone was fixated on the stage as was I. It was the most beautiful sound coming from the stage that I had every heard. I'm so fortunate to say that I at the age of 9-10 got to hear John Denver live in concert and got to shake his hand. I had no clue who he was at the time. It was so powerful that I still remember a good deal of the concert even today at the age of 40.

I see 5 people disliked this video and only 7 commented... Sometimes I see absolutely horrible stuff on the internet with over millions of views! I have been sitting here crying because my heart is breaking. This feels like some sort of homecoming to me. He could have been there - he would have been only +- 68 years old, and he could easily have lived for another (how many?) years. What would his legacy have been like if he could have stayed a couple of years more? I have been singing along - and still crying - with his old orchestra buddies. Even the orchestra is doing an amazing job with Hal Blain.- the conductor who played with him for so many years. I love you John - I still miss you every day and thank you for saving my life so many times xxx

Such a special man he was. How he managed to have such a strong, meaningful impact on me all those years ago, as a young girl in 2nd grade, says a lot! Denver DID have a great advantage - he had a "pitch perfect" voice - only about 1 in 50,000,000 people are born with this and not all are singers!!!!!!! (Elvis, Sinatra, Bob Hope, Beverly Sills, Adolph Hitler (yep!!)) Humans are very attracted to pitch perfect voices!!!!!! Denver couldn't hit a sour note if his life depended upon it!!!!!!!!! And sorry to say - but Justin Beiber has one - so he will be around for a while!!!!!!!! For these people - singing is NEVER a problem - they cannot his sour notes!!!!!!!!!! Denver once tuned an RCA concert piano - using only his voice. Later the same day - a piano tuner came by and the piano was in perfect tune!!!!!!!

I agree. Someone asked John once why he thought other musicians didn't record his songs. He said he didn't know. I think it's because they didn't feel they could improve on his version. His voice is extraordinary.
