I agree with Seraphina , people have insulted him so much, and made fun of him, which is ridiculous when he has stayed on top of Shannon’s case all these years and never gave up on her or her family despite her mom passing away tragically and I don’t even know if her sister is in prison for that or what, but even taking on Jessica Taylor‘s case, and he has done a really good job and it’s a shame that everyone seems to have a problem with him and people feel more comfortable. I would believe in talking to him rather than the police if they were involved with Rex Heuerman .

The task force would disagree. If she was murdered, she would have been among the victims stated in the indictments. She wasn’t, because there’s no proof she was killed.

⁠@@TrueCrimeWithTheSargeI wish John Ray had gone over WHY Shannan didn’t die in the marsh by accident. Some reasons that stand out to me are: 1) The weather was mild that night so she didn’t die of exposure. 2) Her clothes were found separate from her remains (I read somewhere that her bra was actually CUT half at the front.) 3) She was found so close to civilization it’s weird to think she couldn’t have called out for help and been heard by residents. 4) The second autopsy showed the “horns” were broken off of her hyoid bone perhaps indicating she was strangled. 5) Shannan said on the 911 call “they’re going to kill me.” On a side note, Burke must have some good dirt on people. He was able to retire and still collect a pension even after his reprehensible behavior.

@@JonathanERubin My post wasn’t about the Task Force at all but the fact that LE insisted Shannan Gilbert’s death was accidental. They repeatedly stated she “got lost in the marsh and succumbed to the elements or drowned.” Her death may or may not be related to the Gilgo Beach Murders but it certainly wasn’t a death by misadventure, IMO.

Crazy that I know who Joe Brewer is , I don’t know him that well, but way back when he used to go to the same gym that I not only worked at , but I also went to the gym there as well, it’s crazy what a small world it actually is, and I wonder if he had anything to really do with Shannon’s disappearance, I feel like he obviously knew what happened to her, whether he did it or not, I do think he should be questioned obviously again, so I agree with John

Victoria Heuermann’s date of birth is October 29, 1996. The incident with the couple that went to Rex Heuermann’s house in or around February 14, 1996 was approximately 8 months prior to Victoria Heuermann’s birthday. That would make Asa Ellerup maybe 5 to 6 weeks pregnant at the most. That’s cutting it close with regards to Asa’s timeline and claiming she didn’t want to have sex because she was pregnant. Just saying!

I listened to an interview of him, he talked about how he confronted Brewer and that the two of them went to Suffolk Co together and spoke to police about Shannan.

Pak and Diaz worked for the same agency that Shannon did. They have claimed in interviews that is how they all met. Also, the owner of the company, Joseph Ruis had a court date coming up and Shannon was supposed to testify. Unfortunately she never got to.
