A good reaction, Cassie. Winston shot John in such a way to look good to the adjudicator, but also so it would give John a fair chance for survival. After all these people are experts and he knew that John was wearing armour under his shirt so, this is why he didn't use a head shot.
@CollideFan1 Жыл бұрын
Yeah Winston knows how to play the game. He had to put on an act to retain his power but make it look like he was trying to kill John in service of the High Table. I haven't seen the next movie yet but I bet he joins John and Bowry King to take down the Table

Oh I knew from the jump what Winston was doing. He probably had that drop from the roof dialed down even before the fall, maybe replaced some awnings & added some padding. I love that kind of character. He doesn't just fold & is prepared to fight. This gives the Table's rep the impression that he has conceeded his losses & figures that at this point Wick's death is his only option. If he had folded immediately it wouldn't look this way. My only contention is that he & John should have discussed this beforehand lol

Fun Fact: The dogs were so excited in the fight scenes that they had to use CGI to digitally alter their tails because they couldn't stop wagging them from happiness. Absolute good boys/girls. Also, Keanu Reeves has been doing all the training for these movies since the beginning, but it was awesome to see Halle Barry also put in the work for this one. You can see videos of her on KZbin practicing her shooting and helping train the dogs, so they'd work with her on set during her scenes. Gotta respect action stars that do their own stunt work.

His suit is bullet proof so Winston shooting him did not kill him. The fall off the building was over done. No human on earth could have survived that fall when he hit the railing. They are trying to show how tough John is but that one is not reasonable. They idea was good as far as setting up the next movie. 😄
@John-ru4iz Жыл бұрын
The big falls John takes a few times in these movies are the only parts I find a bit ridiculous. There's a couple of falls in JW4 that honestly should at least leave him paralyzed, but with this one, yeah, there's no way he wouldn't have been dead instantly before even hitting the ground. I forgive it because everything else is so awesome.
@Temujin1206 Жыл бұрын
To be fair John's injuries throughout the films are completely implausible start to finish. The fall from the red circle balcony (especially with the gun positioned right at the base of his spine which he then lands squarely on), Viggo's 10cm knife stabbing John right over his intestine up to the hilt (5mm of knife is considered enough to be potentially fatal in most cases for stabs to the torso), the blast from Santino's grenade launcher which launched him 20m (even before the broken glass and flames), not to mention that if those bulletproof suits were real the force of a single bullet impact with such little padding would 100% cause fatal levels of internal bleeding, the tailor made the understatement of the millennium with that "quite painful" quip. Honestly I think the price you have to pay for the action sequences and how much impact they have is that you need to entirely suspend your disbelief in regards to anything medical, John gets beaten around to a completely nonsensical degree but manages to shrug off dozens of injuries which should cause instant death/paralysis with little more than a grimace and a limp as he walks off to seek dubiously effective medical care in definitely unsanitary conditions.

The blowfish is Fugu and can only be prepared by specialist chefs who are specifically trained and licenced as they have to remove all of the poison glands without piercing them or tetrodotoxin is released which causes catatonia or death. It is believed to be a main ingredient in Voodoo zombie poisons. Some years ago they had to relocate the bodies from an old cemetery in Japan to make room for new building projects and were shocked by the number of people who had been buried alive (evidenced by scratches inside the coffin lids). It is believed they were utterly paralysed but conscious due to badly prepared fugu and were probably aware of everything throughout their funerals and burials.

(16:38) That's "Fugu". A Japanese speciality. The blowfish's skin and innards, _(especially: liver and ovaries),_ contain a neurotoxin that can llik a human. The remains of the fish need to be disposed of as hazardous waste. If the cook isn't very careful, even a trace of the toxin (e.g.: on the knife's blade) is enough to paralyze a man. It takes two years of special training to get licensed as a Fugu-cook. And only licensed Fugu-cooks are allowed to prepare and serve Fugu to customers. I never tried it, but it's said that it doesn't even taste that good. The main appeal to eating Fugu, is apparently the possible danger to die from it. You know: to challenge fate...

7:57 You’re the only person I know that actually picked up on the fact that John is actually in a weapons museum. It also explains why Wick built the revolver. Most small scale museums that include firearms usually have deactivated ones on display, with most of them not being able to even load a round. However, since there is no universal law dictating HOW a firearm is to be deactivated, it is theoretically possible to create a functional firearm by using the parts of several deactivated ones, which is why John disassembles it and makes a new one. I interned at the Springfield Armory National Historic Site, (the place where they invented the rifle Dick Winters used in Band of Brothers) which gave me some insight on how museums displays firearms.

The reason they went with Halle Berry is they asked themselves what actor would put in the work with Keanu to do the stunt and training for the big action sequence with him, and the answer everyone came up with was Halle. She did the physical work, and more importantly she worked for six months just training the dogs and getting rapport with them. She did a lot of very good work for this movie. Also a fun fact; the two chief henchmen of the American Iron Chef chairman were from The Raid series, which Keanu and Chad (the director) were huge fans of. So they got two of the actors to come in and do it because they just admired them that hard. If you want a good action-followup to the John Wick series, The Raid and The Raid 2 are some of the most sublime action movies of the past 50 years. They should be on the list.

The fact, that the adjudicator has the word "Einfühlung" _(German for "empathy")_ tattooed on her neck, must be one of the biggest jokes inside the "John Wick" universe.

“The things this man can do with school supplies” best description of John Wick I’ve heard 😂😂😂😂😂😂 8:15 “ I’m about to see something really messy aren’t I” great reactions. Reasons why i love your vids

"But I'm pretty sure he's gonna Baba Yaga their butts!" I laoghed out loud, Cassie succinctly summing up the plot of JW4 🤣

_"Has he even had a decent meal or like some beef jerky even?!"_ That is the single most hilarious and sincere thing I've ever heard on a movie reaction, you are a legend in my book.

Cassie's not wrong. We haven't seen John have a good meal, or get a good rest, since the start of the first movie. It'd do him some good, lol.

To get her ready or this movie, Keanue took Halley out to a shooting range to practice those maneuvers. The look on her face when she started hitting targets was like a kid on Christmas.

Luv your reactions. I would totally watch a movie about you going on Priceline and accidentally booking a room at the Continental! LOL

John asked Sophia if she wanted to know where her daughter was, bcos John knows where she is. Winston knew that the only way to save John was to shot him on the Bullet proof suit making sure he didn't die so he could escape. That's why he wasn't bothered when she told him that John wasn't on the street any more. The concierge also knew John would survive the fall and that's why he said Well Played to Winston. Oh and the dog in the movie is actually Keanu Reeves dog.

I have a funny feeling the Continental isn't on Priceline. Lmao

As someone who works at a hotel, no hotel should be on Priceline, lol. Third party reservations are a pain in the backside.

I don't think it was a coincidences that Winston shot John in the amored parts of John's suit or that The Bowry King was there to pick him up

I used to have several Saudi/Kuwaiti college roommates, and that flight from New York to the Arabian Peninsula is like 20 hours ONE WAY, so John making it from The US to Casablanca, to the middle of nowhere desert, then back to New York, that's quite the travel time.

Great reaction. And no apologies needed for wanting a story with more of a human focus. The best action movies always have heart.

"Para bellum" (2 words) is latin and means literally "prepare to war". Is part of a famous quote: "si vis pacem, para bellum" (if you want peace, prepare to war). All toghether (one word) is a very famous weapons and ammo brand.

John Wick 4 was amazing. I saw it last weekend and I'm thinking about going again. Maybe you can do a in theatre with friends video like you did with that other movie... uh I think it was Top Gun? Anyway that would be cool!

I was surprised that you had no comment about Halle Berry's performance. The ex-Bond girl put in the work to be able to pull off her fight scene with John Wick & her 2 dogs. More amazing when you realize that she is now 57 yrs. old.
