@DavidGowers Ай бұрын
John cut off his wedding ring finger because The One Who Sits Above The Table told him "cast aside your weakness". His wife is his one weakness. Cut off the finger, can't wear the ring, therefore she's been symbolically cast off. As for the two Indonesian (not Japanese) guys that kept "letting him go", I feel like the point of that sequence was that they had such high respect for him that they wanted to keep the fight going as long as they could. I felt like they wanted to wear him down or be worn down themselves, and that neither wanted to get a questionable victory over the other, they wanted a clear and decisive victory. It came across, to me, as the ultimate show of respect. Then there was the whole aspect of Zero wanting to kill John and those guys knowing that, which probably also played a big part in not wanting a questionable victory.

It could've been a vague nod to his character of Mad Dog from The Raid and how he was obsessed with prolonging bare-handed fights. I get it, but in my mind the John Wick series isn’t even comparable to F&F. John Wick is superior in almost every way to me. And so, it deserves to be looked at more and if that means some people won’t understand, or disagree…well that’s what art is all about. In sports terms, it’s like comparing LeBron James to Brian Scalabrine (just google him lol). Because you are better, you will be more scrutinized! The revolver scene is a homage to “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly”, but it also has some real life merit to it as well. Wick is in a museum. Most (not all) museums will usually display dummy or deactivated firearms because they are cheaper to acquire than the real thing. The revolver he picked up had the cylinder plugged, which is why the round didn’t go in. He also put a new barrel on there because it’s possible the barrel was plugged as well. There’s no universal standard to how a gun should be deactivated, they are all done in many different ways. So, in theory, if you had the correct parts available, you could assemble a fully functional firearm.

Firstly, If Kristina didn't have full-on conversations during a reaction, she'd compute a little more. For example, in the end, when fighting the two gents who said it was an honor fighting Wick, she'd remember that the bald dude literally said only he gets to kill him, and those two fighting Wick were his students. They knew not to kill him; hence, when defeated in the end, they accepted being defeated by Wick. Reactions are one thing; full-on, entire, irrelevant conversations are another. I am sorry. I am beginning not to be able to complete reactions anymore with her. I don't mean to be rude. But I sometimes want to smack my head against the wall when her conversations begin instead of paying attention. BTW, Kristina is from Japan and claims to have learned martial arts. The two that don't kill John when they have the chance are The Shinobi, well they fight with honour, they seek and enjoy a fair fight. It's almost a code to not attack an opponent at a disadvantage, at least one they respect anyway. There was also the clear instruction from Zero that John was to die by his sword alone. I'm surprised you didn't show much from the Halle Berry fight scenes.

1:21:57 Michael Boose was trying so hard to work around Kristen's comments that made little sense at times like this one. It's impossible for part 2 to fall so short when part 2 does EXACTLY what it was supposed to do and I am glad Michael explains this out loud even though Kristen still chooses not to get it which is so funny btw. I hate the setup for the other films even though the setup was perfect lol make it make sense Kristen 🤦🏾‍♂️ Michael I also applaud u for having her back by answering all her questions during the load of times she got confused in the storyline ✌🏾 PS one of my favourite scenes in the whole film is the dog fight scene with Haille Berry but i don't remember seeing your reaction to it at all here?? 😭

@@nascreates3392 The lore of John Wick is not the worst but definitely not the best. Especially when you compare it to other lore heavy stories like James Bond, Halo, Warhammer 40k, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, etc. Compared to stories that have lore written down to be examined (lore is a readable doctrine). John Wick is very loose and bare.

I'm pissed that you neither showed nor reacted to Halle Berry & her 2 Belgian Malinois' performance. That might be the best fight scene of all times. She worked tirelessly with both the stunt coordinator & the dog trainers for months. She even sustained a couple of cracked ribs during her training. There is an outstanding video of Halle's fight prep & at the firing range. She & Keanu Reeves have become proficient marksmen. Keanu Reeves' ability to speed loan his shotgun in both Chapters 2 & 3 is impressive. You missed the mark. Every other reactor showed the fight scene so you can't blame You Tube.

This was the first movie I saw in a theater that *LITERALLY* left me exhausted! I actually struggled to leave the theater because my legs were shaking from the adrenaline throughout the movie.🤣🤣🤣 Not only is Keanu amazing but the rest of the cast is freaking phenomenal. Halle Berry in her most badass role she has ever done, (the sadly late great) Lance Reddick bringing the perfectly polite badass Charon, Laurence Fishburn showing he can not just command not just a room but ALL of NYC with his powerful canon of a voice. And IMO the man who truly stands on par with Keanu Reeves, the incredibly underrated Mark Dacascos as the main assassin Zero. Mark is in real life an extremely high level martial artist. His father founded his own style of martial arts which he taught Mark, and he has studied Muay Thai and capoeira! And on top of all of that, he’s also The Chairman on Iron Chef!

-Chapter 3 was the first one I saw in the theater. It became my 2nd favorite of the series. - Ernest is indeed a basketball player. However, he’s also in commercials for Pepperidge Farm Goldfish. -Even after how many times I’ve seen this one, I still get as excited with the ending especially after the Bowery King says “But this High Table shit.” When I saw it the first time in the theater, my eyes got big and I thought,”Wait……” As he kept talking, I was thinking “No way!” As soon as John gives him the “Yeah”, my brain exploded. I still get that emotion every time. -As for Chapter Four, I can’t say anything that will risk spoiling anything. A number of surprises. There’s one particular scene that is unbelievable but there’s an element to it that makes it better. You have to go back and watch Chapter One multiple times because I’ve not seen a reactor notice it. - For “The Director”(Anjelica Huston), she will be back but I won’t say anything more. -They will continue with the issue of dogs in Chapter 4. -With the talk about Chapters One and Two, I think it’s more about Chapters Two and Three. Chapter One seems like it was initially a one and done because they weren’t sure if the movie would do the business that it did. Meanwhile, 2 and 3 just flow together. -When I heard Michael use the phrase “Overkill is underrated”, my 1st thought was “The A-Team” movie.

John really isnt at his best till the 4th one, you forget hes been retired for a long time, has been fighting here for what? Hours now? days? Weeks? Its hard so says really since he came out or retirment. Hes also been hurt repeatedly and went from one fight to next, they also go for realism so hes gotta be exhausted half the time no matter how commited oneself is hes still only human 😊. This series is so awsome tbh, thats why people love it, its so close to realistic as one gets. Other then some of Johns injuries in the later ones theyve kept the series pretty grounded in realism. 😂😂LOL as i wrote this winston betrayed john and your reaction was to much ROFLMAO 😂😂

The first is still the best. 4 probably has the best action, if action escalation is what you consider how it progressively gets better with every sequel. The first however is best in terms of story telling and emotional impact mixed in with action and intruige. You really get a sense of John being the boogeyman in the first one, not so much the others since you start introducing other assassins on close to or similar levels to him like Zero and Cain.

I REALLY recommend "DRIVE" which he starred in and Kadeem Hardison (a different world) was his co-star. It also had a random guest appearance from Brittany Murphy, early in her career. It's a mash-up sci-fi, martial arts, action, buddy travel film. It's well worth a watch and definitely deserves more attention, plus it stars a young Mark Dacascos doing stunts and fight scenes.
