If you're concerned about Netflix's Avatar show because the original creators walked away... just know that, apparently, the reason they walked away is because they wanted to make changes to the story, while the producers wanted to keep it more faithful to the animated show. Also, those two og creators weren't the only ones who worked on the animated show, so it may be a mistake to associate the genius of the og show just with them to begin with.

I agree with the sentiment that just because the og creators left doesn’t mean this show willl fail, it’s my fave franchise EVER and I think this remake looks PHENOMENAL 🙏🏻💚 but I’m just gonna say if you’ve ever seen any interviews with Mike and Brian you’d know not only how long they developed and perfected the project for YEARS before starting development but how they really were the main driving force behind everything that made the show great. Other people obviously contributed and deserve praise but let’s make it VERY clear that credit for ATLA’s overall quality and story DEFINITELY go to mike and Bryan. They’re legit geniuses and the new ATLA animated movies are gonna SLAP when they drop 😭🙌

If Pedro is Reed, I think Cillian Murphy would be a perfect doom opposite pedro...similar age and they seem like two guys who went to school together. I think murphy is perfect regardless of who plays Reed but with pedro?? It's perfect.doom the scientist isn't very imposing but with the suit he turns into something else..I think Cillian could pull off that duality.. I also think Cillian with a voice module would sound fucking perfect!! Idk if theyle make him do a accent but if they do im curious how he would do with Serbian type accent.

Nah Big Hero 6 not getting a sequel was so baffling! It did really well in every definition of success for a film. A sequel would have been easy to do aswell, the characters were soooo loveable. Makes me sad honestly… 😢

I was saying for a few months that all the streaming services that'll survive their sustainability issues will need 1. A few marquee franchises (a la GoThrones, Star Wars, Trek, Marvel, etc.) 2. Frequent procedural shows (NCIS, FBI...) 3. A big childrens show (Cocomelon, Bluey, these things rack some hours for tired parents) 4. A big live sporting grab (NBA, NFL, FIFA, wrestling UFC, curling 😅, Golf, etc.) 5. Soap operas 6. And to grab a Korean sensation They've got to figure out show to show round the year hand offs too in each of those categories. If they want the theatrical arm to stay healthy with it, they'll have to broaden that window between theater and streaming availability too, or else a lot of us will be cool with waiting 3 months or less for an average looking film to become available.

John what do your examples of no studio interference with Zack Snyder that aren’t DCEU have to do with the interference Warner did after Man of Steel? Batman V Superman sucked because Warner was trying to rush their Justice League to compete with Marvel. They interfered with the film and shoved Wonder Woman, Doomsday, and the death of Superman into one film that shouldn’t have had anything to do with those things. That’s when the DCEU went downhill. Also Suicide Squad? Justice League? Extreme studio interference there. It’s not a “fantasy.”

To answer the question of what first performance you saw made you think was Oscar worthy? Answer for me I believe is: Denzel Washington in Glory! That acting was sad, thought provoking, and powerful. Just fantastic for an Oscar performance and he Won.

it should be a chargeable offense that atsv wasn’t even nominated for best picture. imo it should’ve even had a decent chance of winning. I know that the category of best animated feature is supposed to make us feel better about good animated movies getting their recognition, but sometimes there comes an animated movie where the tagline “best animated feature” doesent quite cut it.

I hope Sky Optimus Campea gets to experience the joy of Disneyland lol joking, but on a serious note, it is one of the most amazing places you can go on earth, unless you physically can't go, I think it would be pretty sad to deprive a child of disneyland, I'll never see disneyland as a child again, but I will treasure those memories forever and at least get a taste of it every time I visit.

Ya know. I'm 35. Currently live about an hour away from Disneyland. The one in Orlando. Granted only lived here a short time. But growing up in Tennessee it just never happened. I even toured for 15 years of my life and made stops in Anaheim and Orland many many times. Still never went. I don't know why I have no interest yet loving Disney related things.

they should avoid casting a dr doom casting until after avengers' secret wars when the next saga starts. the next saga will probably be the mutant saga and dr doom should be the main villain of the saga. they could tease dr doom in the fantastic four movie and avengers' secret wars in the background of the movie. the first fantastic four movie in the mcu should define themselves without dr doom being the main villain again. they can give us a reference to dr doom in the first movie but save him for the sequel post credit scene in the next saga. they can explore dr dooms origins and his mother's past with the witches in the old country in a full saga. idk .

I say Oscars got it right with putting Barbie in adapted screenplay as 90% of the characters are based on the toys as well as some of the houses, cars, etc also there are like 40 Barbie movies already. Just because this is the 1st live action doesn't give it a pass, if I made a live action Big Hero 6 film that should be under adapted even if I don't base it off the animated movie.

@@joefayant8470 For me, I see it in the sense of the screenplay. If the screenplay has been adapted from an existing story. Neither Iron Man 1 or the Barbie movie were taken from existing stories. The characters and their worlds previously existed, but the story in the screenplay was something new for the first time. That’s how I see it, but I understand in terms of the Oscars they count as ‘adapted screenplays’.

Zone of Interest is something else. Saw it a couple days ago and I still feel gross. I know, thats the point. And its executed perfectly. Johnathan Glazer doesn't miss. I am a Jurassic Park and World superfun. And I am hype about any film in this world. Sinple as that. Even the few films that are meh In some ways, I love them. And I love the cloning aspect. Maybe not executed perfectly. Ive enjoyed the plot of the films. Just not written as well as it could have been. Jurassic was my thing as a child just as Star Wars, Trek, or whatever else is for others. First thing I saw in theaters. And to what Kris said. Im not a wrestling fan at all. I was for a few years when I was 12 or so. Rey Mysterio was my guy. But I checked out fully by 13 or so. Just haven't cared at all. Not my thing. But hearing Kris say "cosplay with fighting" it hit me. Funny, but hearing it said like that makes me appreciate it more. Ha. I get it in theory. Still wont watch. Ha. But respect. And the FF cast. I think its a lock as to who. Pedro, Kirby, the dude from The Bear. Forget his name. And then now that I'm typing this I'm blanking on his name.

Godzilla minus one should have had multiple nominations but Hollywood was still piss off at it. It should especially had best picture nomination but they weren't going to risk it. The movie that's made over 100 million world wide and a budget of 10 million. I seriously cannot wait to own this movie.

Hollywood pissed off about Godzilla Minus One? Why? That I know of the reason why the movie was shut out of any major category for the Oscar’s is because Japan had already submitted Perfect Days as their Oscar entry therefore making Godzilla Minus One ineligible.

Toho would have released their movie earlier, (edited) Dec 31, to be eligible for the International Feature. Toho didn't care to be eligible, so it really wasn't Hollywood.

The acting, dialogue and tone of Avatar trailer made me lose faith. It looks stunning, which is even more depressing because they obviously spent a lot of money and they have the foundations of an amazing adaptation, but the tone is too kiddy. I know the animated version is also very kiddy, but the fans of this show are much older now and I know personally I wanted something that was more LOTR and less early Harry Potter.
