It's really interesting seeing some of the more unorthodox chest training exercises. It gives some great ideas to those that are maybe at a plateau.

Yes it could be called bad form, but it clearly works for him, as it did for Bertil Fox, another mass monster.
@adrianagolisano78718 ай бұрын
JJ is a Legend . All ppl talk about his form doesn't know anything about bodybuilding they are just fitness enthusiast. He had probably the best back during his era . Chest, traps were huge too. He missed o ca,vesta (genetic) but he inspired me like few others.

I can't decide why this gym is so awesome; the brutal training or the sik music. All I know is both will kick your ass.

i didnt realize he was doing a pushup contest, i thought he was trying to keep tension on his pec muscles and off his triceps. thank you for clearing that up, hopefully johnnie reads your comment so he knows he did them all wrong. thank you once again.

that dip setup is pretty solid, never seen that before
@OnkleMack11 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's similar to using the chains. Progressive resistance, as the weight goes up the tighter the band gets resulting in more resistance. It's a great way to break through plateaus.
@Mr1234mexicano11 жыл бұрын
Thanks, been a hassle, but worth it.

the reason he does the push ups like that is extremely simple:chest is most activated, in the lower part of the movement, and he is a pro, he isolates, he doesn't care then about triceps etc, plus it's just a finisher, not the bulk of the training.
@kpTHESPARTAN11 жыл бұрын

@Kusefise11 жыл бұрын
The reason he's going halfway on his pushups is because the first part of a pushup is pure chest while the second half is used by the triceps. Ovbiously he's focusing on the chest part in his pushups.

Its a type of training that more efficiently tears the muscle fibers by repeatedly stretching the chest rather than going all the way up and back down before stretching the fibers again.

Totally insane workout for 95% of all people this work out would directly lead to overtraining but it seems it is working for him...
@teh5o11 жыл бұрын
Chains get heavier as you lift them up because less chain weight is supported by the ground. This is in contrast to the deadweights because those are easier towards the top due to momentum. It just adds more resistance at the top of the lift
@lilou002411 жыл бұрын
yeah johnnie thanks man i gonna train now

They are bodybuilding (although Johnnie Jackson is a powerlifter as well). What they're looking for is contraction and time under tension, and full ROM isn't always necessary to achieve that.
