In Marcus Wareing's defense, Johnnie's fish dish was a pile of shite.

The problem here is this. This chap put himself forward for a public spectacle and when one does that, one has to open to the suggestion of opinion. A judge was tasked with judging this mans food, which he did. Johnnie didn't take too kindly to Marcus Wearing's opinion and got very upset. The lesson? If you can not take criticism like that on the chin, don't put yourself in that position in first place. Sit down and have a think about situations like that, before deciding to take part.

Hi Johnnie. I just watched this episode on Netflix and I thought the judge was a total DICK for giving you at 2. That was just wrong. He could have given you a five or even a four. But a 2? You didn't deserve that. I know it was years ago but I support your decision to walk off. And I hope you and your restaurants are doing well.

What is not good, is that he said 'but I'm fine now' after calling Marcus all the names under the sun. There is still a lot of anger and hurt in this man's heart, until this is realized and dealt with this man will not heal and move forward in his life :) big love.

You're right. I think it's a little sad the man hasn't developed any new perspectives on the event. He's still locked in his anger, and would probably be wise to re-evaluate his choices leading up to what happened.

It’s bullshit mate, he doesn’t suffer mental illness at all, if he did he wouldn’t bring himself into the public spotlight as much. People with mental illness hide it. They don’t flaunt it for personal gang.

I've eaten at two of Johnnie's restaurants. If he openes another, I'll be in like a shot. I was taken to a Marcus Warering restaurant when he was breaking. Charmingly, the kitchen piped 'Happy Birthday' in chocolate round my pudding bowl. I admire Marcus and love Johnnie. Straight choice? Johnnie.

When you don't have fish in your fish course, you get scored low. I do understand him losing it.

she cut him off and he got applause when he was still wanting to share - he started to cry and it ended.. she should have talked to him more

Apparently, there were other things on the programme.

I can't believe this is my first time seeing this. Having recently re-watched the series on a popular streaming service that may or may not rhyme with BetFlicks, I have thought Marcus was a little harsh. Johnnie was pushing himself in the spirit of the competition - just needed to redo the dish for the judges. Johnnie definitely shouldn't have stropped off though - not in the spirit of the competition at all. Marcus Wareing isn't a massive arrogant tw*tbag that everyone thinks he is; he's an incredibly accomplished chef and knows what he's talking about.

Nobody deserves such a low score!!....especially when you work your socks off and put your heart and soul into each dish!...that’s just cruel 😢....Maybe the judge had a grudge...( I’m a poet and don’t know it!) 😊

He couldn’t cut it simple Marcus is a hard man he expects a lot from himself and his chefs. I have eaten Mountains food and I don’t rate it. Kitchens are hard places to work if you can’t take the heat get out of the kitchen.

Thank you for sharing that, I understand, about the anger too. that judge was a wanker, is just one persons opinion, it doesn't make it true. Welcome for sharing

Yes but just because you feel something (like anger or disappointment) doesn't make you right either. I'm answering your comment after 10 years so I'm in another reality than the one you were in when you wrote it, but anyway. We have been complaining for years about the "everyone gets a trophy" syndrome in kids. Here we are cheering the same syndrome in an adult???

he got a 4,not a 2,and the next day a 9 for his main course. so he did not walk off agree that a 4 is dismal, and I can hardly imagine a dish from a good chef that really deserves that

That was a different season

Isn't it interesting how you debate the man's own account of what happened. Garrett is right, you're thinking of a different season.

Marcus Wareing is a professional tosser and gave the 2/10 with a smug look as usual. Keep your chin up Johnny I'm sure your food is superb you wouldn't be on the competition in the first place if in wasn't! All the best

I've unfortunately met this guy and he is an absolute arsehole. Marcus Waring is a far far superior chef and was correct in his score. This guy is really vile in reality. And hated by his staff
@adamv6006 жыл бұрын
Waering is a top chef, his judgement was fair, the dish was shit, embarrassingly shit. This entitled clown has delusions of grandeur and over inflated sense of his own importance and ability.

He got a 2 for the Olympics/ Poseidon dish The video you shared was a different competition.

Marcus is an excellent chef, he knows his stuff. This chef was more style over substance, and throughout the show he maintained low scores, and he really didn't impress, so to call Marcus childish names shows the type of person he is. I certainly wouldn't eat in his restaurant. He hasn't sold himself very well.
