I think this case has opened a lot of eyes about how skewed and biased mainstream media’s reporting is. It’s infuriating. Media should be reporting the facts of this case, not omitting information that doesn’t fit the narrative they are trying to sell to the public. Many men suffer physical attacks from their partners knowing if they retaliate they will be spending the night in jail and lets not forget that violence can also be psychological as well as physical. The definition 'man up' which means just shut up and take it should now be redefined to 'man up' and speak up which hopefully this case will start and we will see many more men coming forward. As a therapist, it is sad that her aggressive response to every difficulty leaves her stuck creating all this destruction to others and also herself. She must face her consequences, of course, and she is infuriating to me too. But a good therapist would help her face and cope adaptively with life, loss, loneliness, fear, insecurity etc. Instead, it appears that she commits herself to devising this patently false and absurd network of lies and wanton lashing out. Who knows how much she has come to believe her own self-brainwashing. She is unable to stop, admit the terrible things she's done, retreat, make amends, and regroup. The right help at the right time might have stopped her from destroying herself and causing all this damage to so many people.

Thanks to Johnny Depp, now other men who are abused by women just like Amber can have a real chance in having a shot at freedom. Getting their kids back. Most of these women party while these poor men bust their buns off to give the child support and alimony. Things needs to change and women of this sort need to be held responsible for deliberately causing chaotic situations to get money from these husbands…
@user-et2ng1qb2m2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! And children too. A lot of people who suffered from abusive mothers (like JD- double whammy) still suffer from a lot of stigma and stay silent. There is an extra layer of loneliness from being abused by women- whether you are a man or a child. People are just more willing to believe and support that men (husband, partner, father) are abusers due to inherent flaws in the male sex and women are only victims. Abuse is genderless. Toxicity is genderless. Very thankful to JD for fighting back and for being vulnerable in front of the world; it's time to have this discussion.

The journalist blatently wants everybody to just suspend our ability to reason, believe our own eyes and ears, and leave our brains at the door. No Thanks! It's so odd to read such an extremely biased article in what is meant to be a 'decent' publication. Shocking really that they just don't get the interest in this is MUCH bigger than just JD & AH. Women, mothers ARE paying great attention to this, because we too know that our brothers, sons could walk in similar shoes to Depp, and we know the 'believe all women' has created many unheard victims, and it's wrong. Men CAN be victims too.
@aliceinwonderland11202 жыл бұрын
It makes me wonder whether magazines like Vogue are paid by a celebrity’s publicists for placement of these positive articles. Meghan Markle seems to get similar favorable treatment for her puff pieces. Or it could be woke editorial boards who have strong biases that come through. It is sad that MeToo became “Always believe women, evidence be damned.” The real lesson of the Depp trial is that men can be victims of domestic abuse, especially at the hands of women with serious clinical personality disorders.

But you have left your head at the door. Johnny: I bumped my head against hers by accident while restaining her. She then faked having her nose hurt and tried to make me feel bad about it. Amber: he headbumped me! Ambers face: Looks exactly like most google pictures of broken noses. That aint no 2 heads just bumping into each other. You listen to what is a more well crafted story. It moves you. Its not what is the truth. You forget that storytelling and making unreal things feel believable is what he is doing for a living. But the bruising on Ambers face, focused on the nose, says he grossly minimizes what happened.

Everyone telling their story deserves to be heard and validated for telling. But anyone in this business will tell you that altered perceptions, memory problems, psychological disturbances, and frankly telling mistruths is all part of the repercussion of domestic violence. Violence is a complex, nuanced area of human experience and should NEVER be responded to with a boiler plate approach. If this terrible case has taught us anything, it is that truth is a stretchy bouncy thing, and all of the (usually very broken) parties deserve our empathy and good wishes. I’ve thought all along that neither of them will prove defamation; however, JD’s case is more credible with every passing day of the trial. Is JD a saint? No. Is he an abuser? As he has clearly stated, and as his well publicized history reveals, he’s only guilty of abusing himself. I believe that he very well could have ended up like his friend River at the Viper Room. One could argue that his jealous accusations have been abusive toward all of his partners but jealousy is not a crime. Throwing bottles is not a crime. Destroying your own property is not a crime. Trashing hotel rooms is not always a crime if you swiftly pay damages. AH herself said it best. JD did the right thing...the noble thing...by walking away. He is, in her words, admirable. IMHO, she’s very lucky that he walked away. I believe that they are both guilty of hurling foul language at one another, of abusing substances and of choosing their shallow relationship over healthy relationships. JD does not have a history of throwing punches at his partners. He is not a fighter. He’s a lover...of too many women to count. 😅 They both unfortunately learned at very young ages that “it’s okay” to hit someone you love. JD has forced himself not to hit a woman, ever. AH convinced herself that it’s okay to hit a man (because men are supposed to be able to “take it.”) I’m super close to believing that the jury will side with JD. And, they just may award him the full $50 mil. plus.

It also lowkey says don't believe men as well. So if we have conflicting testamony between a man and a woman we are to just believe one over the other, because vajina? It also makes women a monolith as well, taking away individuality from both sexes. The worst of all is that when a woman gets caught lying these ideologues run through apologetics. They ALWAYS ignore the evidence of the issue and go to "whataboutisms" of other issues. Always annoying and it happens far too often.

The articles coming out almost 'demanding' that Amber Heard's testimony be believed are more than a bit frightening to be honest. The expectation is that the public, including survivors of DV, are expected to suspend their own reality and ignore the evidence (and the lack thereof for Heard) in favor of a very specific narrative, which leaves no room for men to be victims of DV (despite the woman, in this case, having a documented history of intimate partner violence), and this is most problematic. Further, the demonization of Depp supporters or those merely weighing the evidence presented is a particularly nasty spin that smacks of Hail Mary desperation. "Let's say all the Depp supporters are right-wing extremists!" GTFOHWTBS. The mainstream media is ignoring the fact that many of those supporting Depp are female survivors of DV, and are experts in identifying the cycle of abuse, as well as the gaslighting and manipulation that we have seen from Heard in vast abundance. I mean seriously, she's like one of the 'Heathers'. Absolutely terrifying. Big thanks to internet cousin DJ Emily B for breaking down the legal stuff for the laity! 💜

@Jcab27 - I don't think Musk, if he is the father, has to pay child support. The baby was born using a surrogate from a stored fetus. Even if this child was his fetus, In this situation there is usually an agreement releasing paternity rights, and responsibility, from the father. Amber has said that she is "both the mother and father".

Not only she damaged herself but she ruined it for metoo movement and real victims of DV. this is a case which forces you to step back and realize that justice should remain free of tags and emotions
@privategirl22 жыл бұрын
Agree that hopefully this case will start moving people back into the position of questioning and not simply believing. The MeToo Movement, sadly like all these agenda driven Movements, place the public into a them or us category, women are never ever wrong and therefore never questioned paradigm shift. Hopefully if Johnny wins, the shift can be returned to center. Amber isn't the victim in this case. Maybe in the next DV case, the woman is. Keeping an open mind should be the end game.

As I watch this it is so sad, having come from a dysfunctional childhood I can see what a disaster this relationship was. Amber is so angry that Johnny Depp could not give her what she felt she deserved, and is holding everyone responsible except herself. This is a issue that comes from her baggage. Johnny Depp thought he would have this magical relationship and as it turned bad he drowned himself in drugs and alcohol. Put these two together and it became a disaster. There will be no winner here no matter how the jury decides. The only thing I hope happens that they walk away and learn from this, and not repeat the mistakes that brought them to this point.
@SuperfluousUser17812 жыл бұрын
Also unless you are a man who has been wrongfully accused of “A” or “SA” I guess I wouldn’t expect you to understand how scary it can be. This kind of stuff happening to JD happens all the time and needs to be taken seriously. Anyone can be a victim. We need to start using our brains to decide credibility and not just take her or his word for it.

But we also live in a society where assaultive behavior to women is promoted and normalized so I actually do know many cases of men assaulting women thinking they are funny, or masculine and had no intent of being assaultive. But they were by definiton and by lived experience by the recipient. even in dating it is normalized to pester a woman into dating them, taking no account of a womans capacity and freedom to express how they feel, and taking what they want into consideration. There are many macho attitudes out there and I hate to say it, but many are actually assaultive. If there ever were mutual interest its great someone has the capacity to be the bigger person and try to mend issues between couples, but thats not whats being normalized. We normalize not giving 2 rats about womens feelings, safety concerns, personal space, check points to see if initiatives are recieved and reciprocal.
@lisachanter4742 жыл бұрын
I think that it's a pretty sad thing to have happened. And that it is wrong on so many levels. They both have problems that because of thier status they don't have the people that can make them get help. If she was in the UK she would of been sectioned under the mental health act. To actively try to destroy someone is inhumane. And the damage she tried to cause Johnny is incomprehensible. But this could end in tragedy if she doesn't get the help she needs. She has backed herself into a corner and with no escape. Thier was a case in the UK where a female star was accused of beating up her boyfriend and because of the media she killed herself. The outcome should be Johnny is cleared of all accusations but she really needs help.
@jillmswift2 жыл бұрын
I've been thinking the same. It might finish her off if she loses. As much as I think she's 80% at fault, I wouldn't want to see her do anything silly. If you felt like the whole world was against you, you might feel like what's the point in living. She's had a horrible childhood so I also hope she gets the help she needs

@tamaradavis36932 жыл бұрын
Yet, sadly, it was the UK judge who effectively gave her legitimacy with his own "insane" (imo) ruling. That farce of a trial was the most crooked, jacked up proceeding I've seen in a long while. I know the case/ruling was related to a journalistic publication, but it was so much more that that. Imagine how it made that thing feel superior, and justified, in her abusive actions. Admittedly, none of my opinion matters in the grand scheme of things, I just find the thoughts ironic- in relation to your statements. Nothing personal

I hope she realizes the need for help and change. I think, though, that she’s more likely to strike out at others than herself. My opinion. Of course I don’t want anyone to suffer.

Everyone said in the beginning JD has no chance of winning (including experts and professionals). Now we are all seeing that light shining through all that doubt. And i admit i had my moments throughout the trial my doubts, but time and time again was reminded she is a liar. This case is so much bigger than people are acknowledging, but justice has to prevail.
