Because you needed genuine talent back then - something that is still present today but diluted by the not-so-good artists who hide behind autotune & production tricks. I was blown away and really impressed. There could've been at least 2 more singles released off it, but since the album didn't sell well (it peaked at #56 in the US), I guess their record company decided not to bother with it.

'Cause you don't understand Till there's blood on your hands That it's time to forget and forgive I, I don't want to be a hero I don't want to die for you I don't want to be a hero And those who return Come back only to learn That they're hated by those who they love 'cos you're not satisfied Till the thousand will die And your anger is paid for in blood I, I don't want to be a hero I don't want to die for you I don't want to be a hero

The way they worked with the sound of the synthesizers, the super expansive and spatial acoustics they used, was unique, and they did it with all the instruments. I think that at that time they found a way, through sound mixing, to give soul and power to electronic instruments, so that they wouldn't sound like an empty, square can. In addition, there were the voices of the singers, which had to be special for this type of sound. Today, sadly, they do not use this type of arrangement, except for very independent and niche bands (Hurts and his spectacular "Wonderful Life" comes to mind). The good thing about all this is the identification with the 80s that we all find when listening to this type of sound. It is a true journey back in time to a happier and more sincere era.
