The person who played as Sub-Zero in this is John Turk. He previously played as both Shang Tsung and Kuai Liang in MK3 and would portray the masked ninjas in UMK3. I honestly think the Mythologies outfit is somehow a bit too big for him because Turk is a massive guy, on par with John Parrish, who was Jax. Also being a nerd here, but the Lin Kuei aren't cryomancers. Only Bi-Han and Kuai Liang are

Defeating Monster Shinnok is how you unlock the outtakes reel, and it essentially requires you to be full of full restores to kill him. Which considering how difficult this game can be… yeah, just watch the outtakes on KZbin, as you said.

As I get older I have been working to avoid parasocial relationships whether that’s with people I know or people I simply admire with that being said, I discovered your channel when I was 6 years old just browsing KZbin and I was drawn in by the cool Johnny vs Mario thumbnails. I was hoping to see a fun animation of someone beating the shit out of Mario at the height of my anti-Mario eras I was met with some guy just talking and I immediately turned it off. 2 years later, you popped back up in my feed and I recognized the style of thumbnail and decided to give you another shot. You became someone I could always rely on if I needed something to watch, I was only 8 years old but whenever a new Johnny vs video dropped, I would make time in my day to watch it. Since then it’s always been that way, I’m 19 now and while I find myself drifting away from being as invested in KZbin videos and such, I still make sure I keep up with SomecallmeJohnny. With all that being said, I just wanna say thank you for all that you’ve done. Your output has never been a issue to me personally regardless of any gaps, so definitely focus first on what YOU want and your own well-being as I’m sure the majority of us will still be here no matter what.

Also the fact that they have dinosaurs in the Netherrealm implies one of three things: 1) The world works on Greek rules and that the Netherrealm is the only afterlife 2) That there were dinosaurs that were consciously evil enough to get sent to Hell. 3) Dinosaurs were an invasive species to Earthrealm

Mythologies was a really cool idea but GOD was the execution really rough. It plays exactly like a fighting game, which makes the platforming feel really off. I wish it was good because it was an interesting experiment and we might’ve gotten more

There was a Guilty Gear game on the PSP that used the fighting game template but just made a beat-em up out of it, kinda like Tekken Force Mode but in 2D. Before that, they tried making a 1V2 fighter, GG Isuka. You might have guessed it but the fighting game controls didn't work well with something like that when you needed to switch targets left or right. TLDR, 2D platformers or other 2D genres don't translate perfectly from controls of a different genre.

Exactly, dude. Well said. And while SGB's playthrough of the game IS hilarious, there is another hilarious LP of the game, courtesy of Maximilian Dood, and his 6 hour Kampaign. He also used the Infinite Lives and mana meter Kombat Kodes. It was hilarious to watch the entire thing. But watching SGB also go through this catastrophic disaster was also hilarious. Because of all the trauma the N64 version of this game caused me as a kid. Seriously. I never beat the game because of the finite amount of lives, but I did use the Infinite Lives code though. I just never beat the game, and I hated it. But I did love the live action FMV's though. Those almost were enough to motivate me to warrant going through the game entirely. Because cheat codes help make it fun. Still a bad game though. But so bad, it's good...to watch other people play and not actually play for yourself. Glad I missed out on Special Forces though, because I've seen how horrendous that game looks. It's also laughably bad though, but no cheats to help. But that game stars Jackson "Jax" Briggs, Sonya Blade, Jarek, (sporting his MK4 design), and Kano. I think it's the absolute worst MK side scrolling game. Glad they finally nailed it with Shaolin Monks, but there was never any sequel to it, and has been forgotten about, which is a shame. It was a REALLY good game. You could also play as Scorpion and Sub-Zero, and Johnny Cage, and there was even a vs. mode too. It's amazing how much Shaolin Monks gets right. But they just never returned to it...which sucks.

Just wanna say that I love your stuff Johnny. Not just because of your content (though it helps!) but because of you specifically! I’m actually not an MK fan at all, but if it’s your video, I’m watching. Been a fan for years, and I’m glad you’re thinking of scaling stuff back a bit in terms of how stuffed videos are for long franchises and such! Keep it real, man, and take care of yourself!
