Even if you do not like folk or country music from any country or culture. You will always like Johnny Cash. He was something special

You’re right there, something very special. I remember being a country and western fan going back to a small child, in the days of Jim Reeves, country and western singers have silky smooth voices, even the not so good singers, they have voices you could listen to all day, gorgeous, gorgeous voices, belonging to gorgeous, gorgeous men, the look of men that have lived, every year of their lives are etched on their faces, it’s lovely to see, they can’t hide what they’ve done it’s there for everyone to see.

Talent right here, Cash is ACTUALLY playing the guitar (a lot of people use it for a prop rather than actually playing) and his singing is unedited and sounds just like the recording, no pitch errors... simply flawless

All the comments are true on this song and it makes me think of another song by one of country great George Jones "Whos Going To Fill There Shoes?" The answer is very simple "Noone Will Ever Fill Any Of The Greats Shoes That We Have Lost In Past Years." I will say not all new artists are bad they just had to change with the times. The times have truly changed since this era in the music business.

Johnny Cash is one of my favorite country musician/singer/songwriters of all time! He had died when I was 8 years old, and the sad thing was I never listened to his music when I was younger than 8. My interest in his music began when I watched a Day Out With Thomas video and near the end, right before the credits rolled, the song "Casey Jones" played in the background. I looked up the musician who sang this particular song, and when I watched another music video about Casey Jones, I looked at the artist in the description and it was none other than... Mr. Johnny Cash! I did some research on who he was and what his songs were all about and began listening to them. I also watched the movie "Walk The Line" with Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon and listened to the songs that were in the movie. The more I listened to Johnny's songs, the more I loved them. And that's how I became a fan of his music.

I saw Johnny Cash when I was in High School 1968 I think. He came to Norfolk VA and me and 5 of my friends got to meet him back stage. We were right near the back door and his limbo backed in. He got out and the promoter who was hosting us motioned for him to come over. He acknowledge us but instead went over and tipped the driver. He came over and shook hands with all of us and signed our 8 track tapes which i still have today. Quite a memory!

I’ve always appreciated the Older Country Music as each word had such meaning in the song. And the songs themselves were fabulous, almost as if it told a story from the beginning to the end. All done classy and without all of the cussing and demeaning names that people use against each other in today’s world. I really miss so many of the Country stars who have gone on home to Heaven, but I’m sure they’re having a great reunion each time another departs is, and joins them!
