@@JohnSanders came out great! I had less potatoes and an almost 7 lb roast so I added more time for roast which came out great and wish I had more potatoes because they were a hit amongst the household. My parents like their meat well done so I pan seared 2 slices for them, they loved it. We had sandwiches the next day.

I know it saves energy cooking both the Rib Roast and Taters together, but I think I would wait to throw the Taters in after the Roast came out, that way they would be nice and hot to enjoy with the Roast after it rested for 20 min, Plus you could coat the Taters in some of the Pan dripping for added flavor before you cooked them, but that's just me. Once again John, A Great Straight forward informative video on this product.

Good early Friday Morning John from the Land of Igloos and Polar Bears 🇨🇦. Another awesome delicious how to video and I can’t wait to start cooking some goodies in my Ninja Foodi XL Pro Air Oven. So here is a challenge for you, I’ve watched a ton of your vids but one thing you have not cooked in the the Ninja Foodi XL Pro Air Oven is fall off the bone baby back ribs. I want to see a full rack cooked at once, not cut into 2 or 3 or 4, the whole rack of baby back ribs at once. What do you think, can we do it? Looking forward to what you decide. One thing that I find quite funny is anyone who has a cooking channel and uses the same thermometer probes ALL say the same thing about how annoying the constant beeping is on the temperature app and EVERYONE turns the volume down or off and watches the screen LOL. As always, thanks for the yummy how to video and I’m sure I’ll see you in the next one. Until then, stay safe and be careful. Kevin🎗

I got the thermapen a while back... they are rather pricey but I do like it...I did my normal prime rib recipe and this Cajun one in the Ninja XL oven and both were spot on excellent...I did like the Cajun for a change as I had just cooked the other... it was very good and made for a nice change in flavor...thanks for watching!!!

Do you think this same recipe would work in the ninja foodi 8qt? Prime rib is my husbands favorite.

Yes...I actually have one minus the potatoes but you could probably place them on the side of the roast and it would be fine... here's a link and thanks for watching!!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZTVaGCed5qGhbc

Will you get a similar Instapot air fryer for comparison? I'm mostly interested in the Omni size, since I cook for everybody at once.

Can someone please tell me if you can use your own dishes in the dt201
@JohnSanders
@JohnSanders 4 жыл бұрын
Not sure what type you are referring to but I would think most Pyrex dishes will work similar to a regular oven and if not using the broil feature but this might be something you should ask and verify with Ninja... hope this helps and thanks for watching!!!

I can’t seem to get thru to Ninja. Very frustrating. How can u bake in this oven if you don’t use your own dish? I wish they would have addressed this in the booklet.

John... I am going to do a prime rib today Saturday and I thought I would do it Sous Vide since it’s already in a sealed bag and then place it in the Ninja oven to brown the outside. What temperature should I set the Sous Vide at? Thanks 😊
@JohnSanders
@JohnSanders 4 жыл бұрын
I usually put stuff in a new bag or make sure the one it is in is sous vide ready... other than that I would go for a medium rate temp around 135 or so... but there are charts that show different levels of doneness that might suit you better... hope this helps and let me know how it does...thanks for watching!!!

I know this is older Video But I made the Prime rib and I can say that in Version that comes with probe the recipe is screw up. It tells you to cook in 400 deg. which even the inside only a small portion had the setting of med-rare but most of them was a Over done. They should use the same as the older version 25 min at 450 and the rest at 250 deg. So my meat got Screw up. But my dog like it.....
