Spaghetti is made of Banana Ketchup, and there's a whole history to why. Back in WW2, Americans brought tomato ketchup in the Philippines, but since tomatoes are scarce at the time and bananas are plentiful, food tech Maria Orosa invented the banana ketchup. It is red because of food coloring to match tomato ketchup. Filipino spaghetti has an acquired taste, especially if you are used to the savory kind. Jollibee itself is catered mostly for kids but it has been in every Filipino households' traditional. As an adult I still enjoy it! I am glad that you guys enjoyed it. Thank you for having such an open mind trying out the spaghetti. I just wish people would have one too before trying it out and not be shocked on how different it is. Great video btw!

I can totally see how the spaghetti is a childhood favorite. Kids would love that taste! Since Jollibee has different pie flavors, they add some colored streaks to the pies so the staff could differentiate between them. The ube pie, for example, has a purple mark. They also have savory tuna pies, and I love the spice one.

That is why we eat the spaghetti with the chicken. That's the classic birthday party combination here in the PH. When you get tired of the chicken, you eat the spaghetti. When you get tired of the spaghetti, you eat the chicken lol

Jollibee's unique sweet spaghetti is the most controversial pasta in the world. Adults either love or hate it with passion. Very few in between. Children universally love Jolly Spaghetti though.

I've noticed that most foreigners don't mix the spaghetti sauce on top with the noodles. They eat the spaghetti the way it was plated. Mixing can help balance the taste of spaghetti sauce with the noodles.

Jolly Spaghetti sauce is made of Banana Ketchup that’s why Filipino Spaghetti is sweet. a little trivia about banana ketchup in the Philippines “it's popularly said to have originated in World War II, when American soldiers brought tomato ketchup to the Philippines. Also: tomatoes weren't a thing in the Philippines until the Spanish inquisition. It's not until the US took over that ketchup even was a thing, and even then aren't common, but there was an abundance of bananas though. The hotdogs/sausages also was born out of the processed foods left by US, kinda like budae jigae.

That Spaghetti was my first childhood meal since i was little during my own birthday. They wear jollibee mascot during birthday as their birthday memories. It was fun, and i visit my family friend's birthday. By the way, you should try filipino traditional meals. It's really good.

Just an observation: That’s not oil from the fryer. That’s either the natural juices of the meat or, and most likely, that’s the chicken fat, which is located in the thigh part. The way JB cooks their chicken, not even the skin ends up oily.

In the Philippines there is such thing as fried chicken skin as a snack you can purchase and some Filipino restaurants here in the states could possibly make some. You have to call and confirm with your local Filipino restaurant.
