Yup and they are livid of Chael cus he managed to have a better career than 99% of the roster and still has a job at ESPN. Here's the deal I've seen these other guys in their prime they were 50% the fighter Chael was, but not even 1% the talker and 100% un-promotable. Chael has managed to promote Belal to a degree. Jon Fitch is a bargain bin version of Belal with no redeeming features😂.

Yes, the fighters whose brains still work after fighting are calling fights. But for every former fighter, there’s no health care or pension. But this lawsuit is about coercion tactics used by the ufc to keep people in contract as long as possible (e.g. the champion’s clause), as well as the ufc’s monopsony power of buying up every meaningful rival and becoming the only major vehicle of mma in the world

What an ignorant position to hold..... What if this was about healthcare? What if some big company was first to build hospitals, and was able to gain a monopoly position on the industry. Would it still be acceptable for that company to pay Doctors a fraction of what they’re worth? Despite the fact the hospital would be useless without the doctors? ...... And if the doctors don’t agree / don’t think it’s reasonable ? Oh too bad don’t work then The point so many of you don’t understand is, UFC monopolized the industry and has created unfair, bordering on illegal, leverage in their favour. The give contracts that are unfair, and the fighters have no recourse. It’s not “don’t sign if you don’t like it”, it’s “deal with what we give you or you have no career at all”, for all intents and purposes. That is not reasonable

Calling somebody a bootlicker is such a lazy insult to throw by those who don’t want to have an actual conversation about the claims they’re making or things they feel they were entitled to receive because it’s almost always stemming from emotion or jealousy of another party receiving more than them. The people who heave that at people who don’t agree with them never break down the numbers and how they generated value and deserved more based on what they directly generated. Chael is spot on that it’s generally not about how they were treated nearly as much as being upset about what the company has. Or how often you’ll see fighters upset that they’re being underpaid and pushing for a large increase to their front end guaranteed pay and scoffing at an opportunity to participate in the back end points of events they are headlining and arguing they’re undervalued as they continue pushing to increase their guarantee. And not jumping for a chance to participate in the performance of the event and staying locked on to getting a substantial increase to the front end exposes that the fighter claiming they’re being undervalued is actually just feeling they’re entitled to more money or just want more money. If someone truly believes they drive enough business and revenue that they should be making more then they should be stoked to participate in how their events perform. If you’re truly driving revenue then participation in what you’re drawing should be welcomed because it gives you a chance to prove it and the company is happy sharing higher levels of revenue with you if you’re the one bringing it in because it’s all new revenue they wouldn’t have and isn’t any loss to the company to share in revenue they wouldn’t have had. Notice top earners never have an issue in a share of what they bring and it dwarfs the front end because they actually brought the value that was then shared with them. Most any company is going to be happy sharing new revenue that you bring in that they didn’t previously have with you but it requires mutual risk and the need to perform to get it. An example of this partnership in action is best shown by Stone Cold back in the day. At that point in time the WWF had a downside guarantee model with a revenue participation based on what someone drew in ticket sales, PPV buys, merchandise royalties and so on. JR has mentioned that the highest guarantee they’d offer was a $1M downside that only the very top level people had. He then speaks about how there was a year Stone Cold made $12M through his share of the revenue he was bringing in while he was only guaranteed to earn $1M but he was driving so much value he blew past that number. And because he was bringing so much money in the company wanted to express their gratitude and he was given a larger percentage share of his royalties than others and a higher percentage of the gate money for the house shows he was on than a different person in the same position as he was because they felt he earned it since he was bringing the revenue. It’s a give and take if you’re being truthful about sharing in what you directly bring to the picture

And Chael is worth tens of millions of dollars. It's not a team sport. It's not a team sport for Fitch either. Chael actually did everything he could to promote himself and used the UFC machine to propel himself. You have to do that when you don't knock people out like Anderson Silva. Chael has spent years trying to teach fighters his methods. Guys like McGregor and Covington took his advice. They were rewarded. A guy like Fitch, who could put an Insomniac asleep, should have gone that route. Now it's sour grapes for him. He took the money and ran and now he's still crying. He only ever did half the work. BTW, if Fitch cared about the fighters so much he never would have cheated by taking steroids. How many guys did he beat that should have been the rightful winners? He didn't care. @@bluejay9235Fear of being blacklisted? The UFC cut him. Why doesn't Chael bad mouth them? Because he deserved it. He's not the guy to sign a contract and then 5 years after the fact cry about the contract he willingly decided to sign. He has actual integrity. Chael is employed by every company that isn't the UFC. Try again.

So when it's all said and done Jon Fitch made more money than GSP did from the UFC? It's a strange world we live in.

We don't know what GSP got paid he had a 11mil per year Bacardi sponsorship. In his prime which was in place till the Bisping fight. And in the old days before the wme aquisition Lorenzo used to give "extra" bonuses...

@Chael Sonnen Maybe they'll sue the attorneys next for 'making too much money' . I mean yes they got what the expected from the settlement, but in the end the attorneys made TOO MUCH

“Douche or Douchebag” was a popular 80’s term for calling someone an idiot/jerk. Chael if you did accept the money according to my calculation you would qualify for a 20k check. Lastly, I see your point but I’m happy that Jon, Nate, Cung got paid. I wish it was for the 1.5 billion instead of the 300 plus million.

I’ve never understood Quarry’s stance. He couldn’t even compete due to injury in TUF 1 and still got to promote his own name through his participation. He still got his chances, got a title shot, came up short but was given more opportunities than many others. Just comes down to jealousy and greed.
