Politicians used to lie back then, but at least they had some manners and respect, unlike Trump who is a completely self-centered person. Bush was a horrible bigot and at least borderline sociopath, Obama promised a lot but didn't get that much done. Maybe it's just political realism. I'm not American so maybe I don't know all the nuances. Anyway, I think Obama was just a better speaker than a person. Also, instead of the droning on from the tired cloned newscasters spewing the exact same rhetoric (except Fox) it gets tiresome. So let the comedians do it, they can encapsulate the debate or whatever and make their conclusions about it. At least we know their bias before even watching. with the newscasters, they're more witchy wrt to their biases. Personal beef is we need to get rid of the US/THEM dichotomy. Trump keeps referring to "them." Who. Dems keep referring to "US" who? This furthers divides the country. It's not us/them it's all of us. Laws apply to the entire country, unless you're needing an abortion or underage marriage, then it's a road trip.

Obama made a speech in 2011 trashing Trump and why Trump made the decision to run in 2016. Thanks to Obama's trash talk you are going to get another 4 years of Trump. It was April of 2011. For weeks, Donald Trump had been fanning the flames of the “birther” movement and attacking President Barack Obama on television - demanding that Obama produce his birth certificate, implying that he was not born in the United States, and questioning both his religious identity and the legality of his presidency. But on April 30, the tables were turned. Trump was the recipient of President Obama’s jokes at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner - and Trump political adviser Roger Stone tells FRONTLINE in The Choice 2016 that the dinner was a turning point for Trump.
