It's a cultural thing. In Australia where I'm from. We complain about things we don't like. I remember being in the States and going to a crap diner with shit food and service. My Yank mates still tipped them?? I ask "so you've been here before?" They said yes. I said "why don't you complain or don't come back?" They said this is all there was for the price you pay. That’s what’s so amazing about this show to me honestly. He’s a great guy, and he helps make a lot of people pretty successful at the end. Sure, some of them fail or fall back to old habits, but most of these people learn from him and do much better than before.

She should have been doing her job, which was watching her employees and making sure their standards are high. Instead, she was standing up front at the hostess both looking like a frightened deer. I got news for her, she doesn't have the right temperment for the trade. People will walk all over her knowing that they can get away with it. When you are cleaning up a place you ALWAYS have to fire someone. The issue is they get used to doing WTF they want and when someone new comes in to tell them different they feel threatened. You gotta fire someone to get your point across that it ends! Only then can you make the necessary changes once people realize they might have to do their job properly!

I worked in places that has stations all through my working years (I'm a dog groomer and want to be a chef but currently a dishwasher) what do these two things have in common? It has to be fucking clean otherwise something is going to happen. I have used that one line from ratatouille "Keep your station clean, or I WILL KILL you." That's not a hollow threat either had one girl that worked a few feet behind me and she loved to talk with her hands I do as well but she liked to do it with a Dremel (basically a mini-sander for dog nails) and I had long hair so you have someone who gives no fucks swinging around a high-speed spinning object when your back it turned, OR another one was swing around grooming sheers usually sharp enough to cut skin with just pressing on it and she liked to swing it around near the faces of dogs and people. Both of these are the equivalent of another cook in the kitchen either sticking their hand into an open blender to try and free a jam while still on or tossing around their unsecured knife like a damn juggling act.
