I've been watching Jonathon since the first camper reno. The production has much improved from those days. This channel has a ton of potential. The content was always there.

Potential has always been there, something always seems to be missing or off. As time goes I think he figures out the formula but that may change with the new baby on the way. My adventures stopped after my 2 boys

Hi, I’m a new subscriber and have watched a few of your videos. I enjoy the videos and your rig. I’ve owned several trucks and campers, as well as trailers, class C and class A rigs over the past 44 years since I was 18. I think it’s awesome that you find enjoyment, in camping alone….I enjoy camping alone with my two English bulldogs. I’m married and we have three grown children and they grew up camping. It’s great for family bonding as well the soul. Friends and family always find it odd that I go camping alone. I explain that I am not unsocial but I really enjoy my own time and the peace and quiet of nature. Thanks for sharing!

Living the good life! Lots of that corporate store firewood is imported from the eastern Europe area. It has to be kiln dried to be imported so it burns quick. Try to support local woodyards when you can.

Sometimes if it starts to rain when I'm by the fire, I grab this beach umbrella I have in the camper and just position it against the chair, holding it if necessary. Then I'm in a sheltered bubble but still get to enjoy the fire. But sometimes I just retreat inside too. :P

Washing your cast iron with soap is fine and even recommended! I do it everyday. It’s kind of a myth that has been going around forever because old soap used to have lye in it which would ruin a case iron.

Jonathan, you can wash cast iron in regular dishwater or just like you did in this video. I have been cooking with cast iron for over 50 years and I wash mine. I either turn a burner on low to dry it or I turn it upside down at an angle over the pilot light area of my stove. My paternal grandma cooked with and washed her cast iron for 80 plus years. Changing the subject. The opening scene on your video was incredibly beautiful.

Sasquatch. And all the bears are coming out. The best bet would be vinegar with a little dilution will kill all those germs. Just spray and wipe. As long as you put the pan on the stove as soon as you dry it with oil you’re good. You don’t want to wash it dry it and put it away.

Did they survive the 2020 Holiday Fire? Blue River was torched. My friend's house on the McKenzie was the sole survivor in the area. Tons of smoke damage, sadly. Visited them in June, three months before the fire. They took me to tour the valley, including those falls. The valley was magical and was shocked when I heard of the fire. They were evacuated to the coast until Local infrastructure was restored sufficiently. So sad......
