Joni is a true artist. She has been "in my blood" since I was a kid, and she still keeps me "On My Feet". Love her, and I believe that her music and soul are still the inspiration for many new artists like Brandi Carlile. How could she not be. She is the real thing! Love you Joni!

My God, it's hard to listen to this. It's stunningly beautiful and makes me long for my youth, for loves lost and opportunities missed. Years ago I listened to these songs never imagining that I would hear them again in middle age and feel the same feelings. Joni captures so sweetly the romance and adventure of my youth. Many years later, in the midst of a painful recession and wars still raging, My youth floats like a gentle breeze on her angelic voice. "That was just a dream some of us had."

I remember a high school crush I had telling me about this new singer, Joni Mitchell, and how cool she was..........I think she is the soul of what the best the 60's had to offer. She touches everyone's soul, man or woman, and reminds us what it means to be a human being, full of frailties, fears, yet still loving. I hope people remember people like her from the sixties, not the Monkees.

Joni added meaning to my life in the late 60s when I was only 13. Her words and music revealed the thoughts and feelings deep within me that I didn't know I had. No one has since been able to write poetry or sing like her. I brought my kids up singing the circle game to them every night at bedtime.

I agree...Joni doesn't need to change, music just isn't what it used to be...it isn't even music anymore...it is profit-whatever happened to the passion, talent, creativity and appreciation? I only hope everyone will wake up and listen! It doesn't matter how you look...it is about the MUSIC!!! Joni ROCKS forever and always

The so-called "artists" of today should all get on one knee and bow their collective heads in front of Joni Mitchell. She is a living legend from a time when true talent was what really mattered. It would be difficult to name 3 performers today who play guitar, play piano, write amazing, ORIGINAL lyrics and have inspired SO many people.

"Go with him, stay with him if you can, but be prepared to bleed..." My God, that line strikes me deaf, dumb and blind every time I hear Joni sing it. It says volumes and volumes about the balance of joy and sadness in love. And nobody has ever described those emotions with as much "heart and mind" like Joni Mitchell. I sent this song to the person I love most in this world because it just says it all. Timeless, and I alsao love the reworking she did of this song on her "Both Sides Now" CD.

"Love is touching souls," a theme along with clouds, the eternal restlessness of spirit incarnate, bittersweet irony, the Sami trailblazing no moss under shoes, among others are sound portraits this artist has shared with us for half a century. The meaning piled up like paint with always a rewewed and deeper vision revealed under each fresh layer reflect back our own unspoken images and impressions as spiritual beings examining an earth bound existence. For those whose strings and brushes resonate to Joni's art at each discovery anew we are carried to the distant shores of our innermost selves and connected to the Divine spring that ebbs and flows in the human heart.

Have been enjoying listening to this for the last couple of weeks. Amazing how Joni sings, drums, and plays mountain dulcimer as if in three independent voices. Lovely song. It was in her Blue album, but it hadn't struck me before. I think her singing in a lower pitch makes a huge difference.

I have the sister dulcimer ro the one Joni is playing...it was built by my friend and well known luthier Phillip Kubicki ...he passed away recently from a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He gave me the instrument before he died....we built many guitars together and I learned a great deal from him. He gave Joni serial # 2...mine is the #1. He always kept the best for himself...I am sure glad he did....I bet all of heaven's instruments are getting a little tweeking and tuning.

Looks like Wembley Arena, London 1983. Joni is a true musical genius. 100 years from now, after all the rest have long been forgotten, Joni and Bob Dylan will still be remembered, listened to, and sung. If you haven't heard the album version on "Blue", do yourself a favor and check it out. Her voice changed in the late '70s - early 80s, for some unknown reason; probably a combination of aging and too many cigarettes. Joni, I have loved you for 40 years, and I always will. Kevin

This is the BBC recording of her 1983 Wembley Arena (London) concert. Somebody questioned the date on the Amelia clip from the same concert and suggested it could be dubbed. It's not. I was there and I watched the programme a few weeks later - this is exactly how I remember it. If it wasn't 1983, it was certainly no later. Here encore was an amazing version of I Heard it Through the Grapevine - didn't make it into the programme. Great night. Good to see it again.

Beautiful! So true for all of us. We have to remember we can't feel one feeling without the other. It makes us strong, weak, it makes us laugh, it makes us cry, and most I hope it makes us appreciate what we really have. To value that imperfect person, just like ourselves. Hateful things have a way of softening over the years because we are not in that same place we were, mentally or emotionally, back then. Time really does have a way of healing the heart. Thank G--!!

This was 1983 at Wembley, UK. I'd just got into Joni at the time, but hadn't realised that she was playing at Wembley. By co-incidence, I went to the box office (in those days they were actual offices - this one right outside the venue) to pick up some tickets for another show. She was in mid-concert, and I could hear the music drifting across the rooftops. I was so excited, and frustrated that I couldn't get in! Turned out, that was the last time she ever played a public show over here. :0(

Proof that Joni Mitchell, with nothing more than a little box covered in a few strings, tempered by some felt, etc.; and with her voice, her original words and music, can convey more than any rock star with a billion dollars in video/audio production behind them. And I might add, I consider her the greatest North American poet since Walt Whitman, and the greatest song writer since Franz Schubert.
