Apologizing is less about the sorry and more about expressing yourself better. If you disrespect someone, sorry doesn't mend it. The solution is to express what you value about the other person, remind them your relationship matters more than the thing you disagreed about.

I wasn't really taught to admit when I'm wrong, it's been a learning experience and hard, but it can be done. Saying "I'm sorry" comes a lot easier to me.

I’ve always been raised consistently to always say Thank you whenever someone does anything for you and sorry if you do wrong. To the point of saying “thanks” and “sorry” was so natural I’ve had friends comment stuff like “yo dude you don’t have to thank me for everything”. I believe it’a very important to express your thanks as well as your apologizes. It wasn’t until I met the mother of my child and her mother, that made me realize some people just really can’t take accountability for their own actions and even trying to muster up a simple “sorry” was like satan trying to say Jesus. I was mind blown that there are some people are raised, and can’t take personal accountability and that’s scary to be honest. Knowing some people are incapable of being apologetic for their legit own wrong doing. It’s a concept I struggle to wrap my mind around.

I've done it... It works better than you think. And is much better than fighting the same way for your entire marriage. My wife and I fight less and less... And every one of our disagreements are handled better than the previous one. The key is not to want to win the argument, but to communicate better. You can't fake it, you have to ACTUALLY want to come out of the argument as a stronger couple.

Wow Great advice! I’ve always found that being honest and open works best even if you don’t know what to say. Stumbling through word’s honestly is better than no words and just arguments

its not because an apology should be organic and from the heart. You shouldnt be told what to say and how to say it. It would seem coached

what if when you ask, what i need to do they respond by saying, i shouldn’t have to tell you
@danag56102 жыл бұрын
If it was only that simple, seems like how a man thinks. You'll just be devastated after knowing that she finds another one because you couldn't figure her out on your own, women can be like that. You'll be blessed if you're able to talk to a woman like how Dr. Peterson is saying in this clip.
@Jervdbur3 ай бұрын
It’s not about the words it’s about owning your mistakes, respect to the relationship and your partner. If you hurt or broke someone’s trust it’s a lack of respect. Without trust and respect there is no room for love. It’s just lust.

I agree with asking specifically why they’re in need of an apology. When they quietly, respectfully, fully expound on the reoccurring issue the other person replies, “Quit harping on the past.” How does one proceed from there?
@tl6932 Жыл бұрын
Only talk about what's happening right now, even if it already happened in the past. If you don't forgive and let go daily, then resentment can creep in and once it grows legs, it runs rampant.

Does showing you are sorry equates to letting people destroy you as a person?
@susanpendell42152 жыл бұрын
No, I had wondered this too. You don't lose your integrity by admitting when you're wrong, it's a strength and takes a strong person to admit when you've done wrong. This has been a struggle for me too as it is scary when you've been walked on and whooped .
@kokoro.theheart2 жыл бұрын

Maybe I’m a complex but not so complex human but I let things go. And if an apology is warranted I just apologize and if I think I would feel bette r with an apology I’ll tell you. I’m sorry is fine, cuz from wha to know many men don’t like to say I’m sorry. So then move on. Many many times I don’t care for an apology. Is that bad? Things happen. I figure if it warrants an apology then maybe it’s bad enough I don’t want one.
