I had an 02 S2000 changed the oem 4.10 FD to 4.77 built by puddymod the legend in Florida and car was night and day amazing even with only engine mods skunk header with K N air filter

@@GEARED_MrLucas Miss much that's really the way Honda should have geared the car but I think their concern was fuel mileage not performance and geez she had low end grunt so no need to shift a lot was just FUN!!

@Robert Pearce on the stock engine, it looks like you can change to 4.77 FD without sacrificing very much top speed. How much of a difference in top speed in each gear did you lose?

@@joeericestrada3175 I'm not really sure sir I don't track just city drive but I know going to the 4.778 FD it's an 8% difference in size but whatever hahaha I know city driving that gearing so much more fun I could drive umm spirited and never even Vtec

@@robertpearce5553 I'm the opposite, I want to hit vtec. Want faster acceleration. Mathematically, the car doesn't hit the top speed of each gear before redline and doesn't have the power to meet redline in 6th. So you could increase the FD without actually changing the top speed up until a certain point. I think 4.77 losses a couple mph.

Definitely agree. For UK circuit work it isn’t going to realistically pull more than 135-140 Vmax anywhere with 260hp. Shorter FD to give that in 6th would be ideal

@@chrismc1977 in a lot of cars, you will have a better top speed than stock with a shorter FD because you can go at the very top of 6th (or the top gear) which is not often the case stock.

Florian Montuzet correct- gearing the car appropriately for its intended use will help make full use of the engine

Florian Montuzet Hondas are normally better than most at gearing the car to make use of the rev range. My DC2 will pull to the limiter in 5th- the shorter gearing will just bump up acceleration at the expense of economy, top speed & a higher cruising rpm. For track work it's a great idea though

They're Rota's as he explained in the video mate. Alot of people run Rota's in the Track scene as they're a hell of alot cheaper to replace

It depends on the engine really, in this case (F20c engine) around 22bhp with the exhaust changes and map. Changing the internals (cams, valves etc.) will see you get more out of them technically.

It did feel like something was holding her back abit... Myself and the owner had a chat after and we think it might've been the exhaust as it got changed after being mapped for a different type to make it quieter 👀

@@GEARED_MrLucas Sounds about right, as you know the exhausts header's/systems are what hold the K'S back! Get a 3" and she'll fly!

Personally I wouldn't have ported the head, the OEM ports are already too big for the standard 2l hence the lack of low end and mid range. There's not enough air velocity hence how it feels lazy. They flow 330 CFM on the intake standard which is massive, but in 2l form it can't make use of it at all. These engines actually have more power potential than k series but a lot of people don't know it, they need more displacement to make use of that head, I'm talking like 2.4l

Pushing it enough to get to know the feel of the car.... It's not mine at the end of the day. The suspension/chassis was far too soft! I know how capable they are when they're setup well - No denying that at all
