🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:34 🚪 *The gatekeeper is not your enemy; they are just doing their job, which is to screen calls for the business owner. Befriend them instead of seeing them as a foe.* 01:59 📞 *When calling the gatekeeper, never pitch your services to them. Keep it simple and personal, indicating you want to speak to the business owner.* 03:19 🗣️ *Avoid sounding scripted when speaking on the phone. Don't come across as a typical salesperson. Instead, adopt the mindset and tone of a confident business owner.* 05:33 📧 *Ask for the gatekeeper's email address if they refuse to connect you to the business owner. This can provide another avenue for contact.* 09:33 🙅♂️ *If the gatekeeper rejects your initial request, persist politely, but don't be afraid to stand your ground. Maintain professionalism and assert authority while keeping them as a friend.* Made with HARPA AI

its an appointment call, not a sales call
@nicholashewett9794 жыл бұрын
The first call shouldn't ever be a sales call, anyway. It's an introduction, of sorts. It's a time to place your value in table with respect to the decision maker and then discuss further conversation at a later date (what becomes the sales call).

Very informative and useful. I intend to start SMMA in a blank canvas. I collected some invaluable tips and tricks regarding how to start an SMMA watching your several videos put together for the last 3/4 days but still I am a bit overwhelmed about the serial-wise functionality of the Facebook business page even before I visit a client (Cold calling or else). I am a bit confused about the difference between a Facebook business page and a personal add campaign page. What comes after what? For example, I was watching your 6 minutes video regarding how to include several clients in a cohesive manner on a face business admin page when clients are paying but do not understand how and on what "stage" of the dealings should I send "links" for the action to be taken by the clients to pay Facebook for add and more importantly how to manage all these from a single screen interface of Facebook serially? What I mean actually how to "streamline" every single step "one after another" even before I approach a client so far as managing the Facebook business page is concerned. Please spoon feed. Sorry for getting it a bit lengthy.

Hi Jordan, amazing content as always mate! I recently purchased your 'Resource Bundle' ALOT of value for money there and definitely recommend anyone reading this comment that perhaps isn't sure about your course to buy it and see what kind of quality you will be getting. Iv prospected and collated 50 potential customers in my local area (all using Facebook none running ads) and following your advice I have 26 of the business owners names. I'v never done any cold calling before so I was wondering if you could help, as a rough estimate out of the 50 following your cold call script how many meetings would you expect me to set? Just so I know if I need to change up my tactics or not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Cheers

pretty confused why a main rule is do not lie to the gatekeeper. then one of the first things you say is 'dont worry its not a sales call'.... on a sales call.
@JordanPlatten6 жыл бұрын
Alex Kennedy you’re not pitching, a sales call would be physically trying to sell something over the phone. You’re simply arranging a meeting.
@kenakennedy6 жыл бұрын
@@JordanPlatten not sure how thats physical myself but still. Your calling to make a sale. I would think that counts as a sales call. your saying its not a sales call as long as your just setting up a meeting to sell. is that right?

Alex Kennedy it’s a prospecting call. Regardless, I’m sure we both have better things to do than discussing pedantic issues, I sure do! Have a great day!

Lol. The fake laughing....brilliant it works. Some light flirting can help too :p
@ninja_tony5 жыл бұрын
mellijeanne in this era of #metoo and everyone getting super offended at even the slightest bit of flirting, I hardly see how that's a good idea. It's definitely not professional. Of course the double standard is that if a woman does it on as sales call, it will probably be somewhat effective, but if a man does it to a woman, it will blow up in his face.
@bagsnbistros36465 жыл бұрын
@@ninja_tony flirting does not have to be offensive or overt. Flirting is not the same as hitting on someone. It was often the other way around. I'd get hit on by men that I called. I wasnt offended. I flirt with women too but it's not at all sexual..But hey that's just my experience.
@ninja_tony5 жыл бұрын
mellijeanne to be fair, I think you sound a lot like me, I wouldn't be offended either. My comment was more about how others seem to respond in general, but I do see where you're coming from. If it works for you, hey, keep going with it lol.

How do you square.... you don't wanna lie..... with telling a gatekeeper, don't worry, this is not a sales call? Or did I miss something. Seems like a lie right outta the gate.
@JordanPlatten6 жыл бұрын
David Charlesworth it’s not a sales call, you’re not selling anything over the phone. You’re arranging a meeting so you can come in and share some no obligation advice with the owner
@davidcharlesworth68316 жыл бұрын
Semantics bro. I like your advice here, don't get me wrong. But it is at best misleading. You mention the term "cold call" how many times. If I polled 100 sales guys and said... is cold calling a sales call, or part of the sales process, what would they say? I get that its a no obligation advice thing, but its not out of the goodness of your heart. It's to make sales.
@JordanPlatten6 жыл бұрын
I don’t get the point of what you’re raising here mate? Of course cold calling is part of the sales process. The purpose of this video is to teach how to get past the gate keeper & after years of call experience, I can categorically say that the methods in the video work - so why get strung up on debating if it is or isn’t politically correct to state it’s not a sales call, if you end up signing the client?
@adammm464735 жыл бұрын
@@JordanPlatten It's not if it's politically correct or not, it's that you said not to lie, but then you did exactly that. I would be selling over the phone, because I'm calling nationwide and don't have the opportunity to go in person as you mentioned in your first reply to this comment. It is straight up lying, and I really don't feel comfortable with it. I'm not gonna argue that it doesn't work, I'm sure it does.
@DannyLynch-gd6pf5 жыл бұрын
@@adammm46473 Jordan's point is you dont go into your pitch on the 1st call. Going into you pitch would qualify as selling and the business owner is very unlikely going to drop everything and listen to your call knowing nothing about you. You try to get past the gate keeper to make CONTACT with the business owner so you can arrange an appointment AFTER the first contact call. The appointment is where you do the SELLING, this is when the owner has allocated time to listen to hear your expertise and is expecting to hear how you can help is business. 1st contact = Cold call and arrange an appointment. 2nd contact = Attend appointment and THEN sell the owner. If you raise this question again you and cant grasp this simple concept then maybe this method isn't for you.
