Awesome, awesome! It's only been a couple of weeks, but it was cool to recall the trip through your eyes while I'm sorting through my own footage. I was talking to one of our sponsors about the trip last night, and he remarked how easy and enjoyable we made the trip look despite the weather conditions. It actually WAS easy and enjoyable when your tripping partner is proficient and positive. Looking forward to the next one!

You guys are amazing, exploring the aftermath of an apocalypse comes to mind.... What a contrast, rugged days followed by fireside chats. I heard stories about that area from my bossman in the early 60's. He'd fly in a seaplane from northern Illinois all the way to NW Ontario. He brought back 35mm slides and lots of stories. Looks much the same in your videos 50 years later.

Joe, you are a huge inspiration to me, I've been studying survival and bushcraft since I was 7(now I'm 14), and I've never spent the night out in the woods.But because of you I have almost no fear of the woods. You have inspired me to study survival once again (I still need to study up on snares ...but other than that I'm ok) to be outdoors. You are truly my favorite youtuber and I love your videos, I like how your videos are educational but you keep them fun. I know this comment is long but I wish I could tell you more in person, but I live in Washington, in the Seattle area. I wish I could fl y up there but 1st, my parents won't let me, and 2nd, I don't have money and can't legally get a job. Anyway I would like to say thank you for everything you have done. I would LOVE it if you responded to this comment and it would make my day. Thank you

Hey guys, you have no idea how much your videos have helped me get through this past few weeks. I finally after 11 years of surgeries, injections, wheelchairs and other various equipment; helping me continue to indulge my outdoor activities, had my knee replaced. Other than short walks with my dog (who loves watching Scout by the way) I've been stuck indoors. So, I've been living vicariously through KZbin. You have encouraged me to capture this next part of my life which is no joke starting over learning how to live. I was given a terminal diagnosis 8 years ago when I was in college, had a mini stroke and was told my kidneys were failing and could not be replaced. My family was told I would be dead in the next few years. Well, a month ago they told my wife and I the diagnosis was no longer terminal! I had pretty much stopped my life goals and put everything on hold at the time of the diagnosis. So, I now get to hit that restart button and carry on. My kids are almost 20 and have their own lives, my wife really doesn't care for the outdoors so I get to learn to network a group of friends with similar interests and get back out there. Anyway, thank you for your amazing videos and inspiring me to continue where I left off, in the woods and the waters. Take care, Keep on.

There's a place that builds custom canoes in Dwight on highway 60 right before highway 35 - Langford Canoe - I'd ask them or Algonquin Outfitters. Seek out the old dudes for real answers - not the summer students.
@axelneumann20637 жыл бұрын
Lee L I'll have to check it out, thanks
@dilligaf02207 жыл бұрын
Pack boats aren't really canoes, they are open kayaks. Easy to learn, but limiting. Sitting on the floor can suck after awhile. Sitting in a proper canoe seat you can move around more. Plus a double blade, even a carbon hybrid one, really can sap your arms compared to a single blade. Algonquin Outfitters rents Swift solo's, along with Paddleshack in Muskoka that rents Wenonah solo's. Go try a few out, worse ways to spend an afternoon. There are a few forums if you haven't found them already MYCCR.com in Canada, and BWCA.com for the US. Lot's of info on different solo's there. For some reason solo canoes never really caught on in Canada.

Joe, fell out of my chair!! The campsite after the shore lunch and before Royd is one me and three companions bushwhacked 10 days before you two landed. Hysterical. We did not go through the burn area. We flew in and paddled out, 8 days, 45 miles. We had less rain and less fish, simply because we had to bust it to get out. Great job capturing the experience. We to went from sensory overload being in the beauty and solitude of the place, to starving, aching, tired, losing weight, stiff and sore - called it "loving the suck." Maybe a Tennessee expression you haven't heard.
