Can't wait for more! Hopefully it's soon, cause your tutorials are the best I've found so far. Also, be cautious that there's no one-size-fits-all compression settings. Gotta check the threshold and monitor how much gain reduction you're getting! The output/makeup-gain levels and coloration of the plugin can make it louder and trick your ear into thinking it's doing anything else. Attack, release, and knee sort of settings can be safer to copy, but none of them are doing anything if the threshold isn't correct! And that's different for everyone's voice and setup.

JR I just want to say how helpful this entire series was for me. Ever since I played Morrowind when I was a little kid I've always tinkered with the CK. Every Bathesda release be it for ES or Fallout I would always eventually end up tinkering with the CK. I tried making this neat new lands mod for New Vegas but could never get the LOD gen to work and back then there was not nearly as much written on these subjects. Anyways each time I tried using the CK I would make progress towards my goals but ultimately fall short and then give up. Years I have tried, and years I have failed. Well I'm 32 years old now and I've finally made a mod that works! This is such a huge personal milestone for me I can't even begin to impart upon you how happy that makes me. Minsc and Boo are one step closer to visiting Skyrim. Thank you.

Might be a bit late to the party but for anyone else having trouble generating the .lip files, there are a few reasons why it possibly won't work. Apparently if you launch the CK from inside Mod Organizer it doesn't work properly (though I haven't tested this since I launch from Bnet launcher) But what I did get was an error in CK's log saying that there were two channels in my audio file. If you go into Audacity with your dialogue file, "select all", then go to Tracks>Mix>Mix stereo down to mono, and then save it as the video states in 16-bit, this fixed the issue for me. :)

Hi when i try to generate lip files my ck just straight up crashes any fix?
@ko-danfleetcommander5937 Жыл бұрын
Same. Did you find a cause and/or fix? Edit: Okay, so I was crashing when trying to generate the lip files. Neither love nor money could give me a solution, so I went--kinda--old skool. I'm pretty sure it is MO2 causing the issue because the dump said CK couldn't read/write to the required directory but none of the so-called fixes worked, and it kept crashing when I loaded CK and the mod through MO2. In the end, my solution was to take the files (esp and voice files) and manually copy them to the steam SkyrimSE data directory, keeping them in their required sub-directories. I then fired up CK external to MO2, and the lip files generated perfectly fine. I then manually copied all those files back to the MO2 "virtual" directory, fired up the game through MO2 and the lips finally moved in sync with the dialogue. Not the best fix but it worked and I'm going to continue working on the mod--and any new mods I try my hand at creating--outside of MO2.

So i figured out what the issue is with adding voice files if its your first time,so you dont have to create the dirs for the voice files we can make the ck do it,first go to your line like he shows you and highlight or click on the part with the n's and hit record...dont say shit just as soon as it pops up hit done,then hit save,then hit ok,now you have a dummy file and a lip file in the proper directory that the ck created for you ,now copy the name of your dummy file then rename your actual audio file with that copied name,drag it over to the voice folder and hit yes to overwrite,then drag the created lip file out because now you can go back to the ck and gen a lip file for it

Not sure if you're still reading comments on this video, but is there more to this tutorial? Seems like there should be another part still.

Hello, how you, it is possible if you record the voice of an audio, film or game, to an mp3 file, can use it as a new voice for an npc
@JosephRussell2 жыл бұрын
You could import it into Audacity and export it as a wav in the correct format, exactly as shown on the video. However, you wouldn't legally be allowed to ever release it publicly (except in very specific cases where the original creator has allowed this) because of copyright law.

Thanks Joseph, I really just have a small simple question, are you in a network somewhere, that's what I think it's called, where you or I can write to you like, Discord, Whatsapp, Facebook, Twitter and so on. Just in case there are any difficulties. I'm currently trying to mod skyrim with CK

Joseph Russell when's the next Elder Scroll game comes out are you going to make another follower mod like Lucien

Only if Bethesda stick with a silent protagonist and don't give them a voice like they did for Fallout.

Can I only do 1 follower per mod? I followed every step for two different followers and the second one is not letting me generate lip files! Edit: I fixed it by reloading the CK and creating a new voice folder for the second companion (Seems pretty obvious now 😅)

Good morning! While following this tutorial and have come to the part where it needs to create a "LIP" file for my .wav sound files. The "Generate Lip File:" function doesn't do anything....no errors nothing. Searched online about this issue and it says two things, 1) make sure audio clips are formatted properly (mono, 44100hz, 16bit). or 2) use the old creation kit to create lip files because the new one doesn't seem to work. I checked and my formats are correct, so I went and tried installing the old creation kit, but it doesn't work at all.. won't even open. got the download directly from the steam tools section and tried completely removing and re-installing, but still doesn't want to run. Do you know of any workarounds to creating the LIP files for my sound clips? kinda stinks having them talk and no lipsyncs happening. lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

Are you using Nuukem's Creation Kit Fixes like I showed in Part 0?
@merkindesr2 жыл бұрын
@@JosephRussell First I would like to say I greatly appreciate your swiftness to responding. Thank you so very much. Yes, I downloaded both the files you recommended from the nexus page and copied them into my game directory appropriately (CK64 Fixes and FaceFXWrapper) as you did in video part 0. I noticed that once I did I get this "Version" error from Creation Kit pops up whenever I start creation kit now. says "Unknown creation kit detected: Patches Disabled" then proceeds to tell me the two versions it is compatible with (1.5.30 & 1.5.73). So I went into my about section in the program to find out what version I have from steam, and it says version 1.6.438.0 which is I guess newer than the versions available for the patch. But sadly I searched everywhere on the internet trying to find an older version and can't seem to find any source to get it from. so I know that is why it's not working, but I am trying to find another way of getting a LIP file generated or to get that patch to work with this version of the creation kit. If you have any ideas I would appreciate it. thank you for your time.

Yes, you can use this download patcher to make the new CK compatible with Nuukem's fixes again: www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/67096/

I'm afraid this is the point where I have to tap out and suggest you ask for help on the Downgrade Patcher's page. However, a very cursory glance at the page's comments section suggests you can run into errors if you try and run the patcher if you already have the CK fixes installed, so maybe try deleting and reintalling the CK. Best of luck!

I have tried to put my follower in VR, but im having a lot of issues. First, after combat, if my follower kills any enemy at all, he will leave immediately after. I noticed this when I was going to Bleak Falls Barrow and he decided to leave after killing a skeever. Second, my follower does not have an option to follow me after putting him into wait. Third, similar to the first issue, if I dismiss him ever he refuses to rejoin. Not sure what I did wrong because (i think) i followed the tutorial right. I'll look over it again but if someone can help me ;-;

Is it safe to add more dialogue to a follower mid save? I already created my follower on a new save and gave him a bunch of idle dialogues (which works) but I realize I wanted to add more. But I read from another tutorial that you shouldn't edit a dialogue without starting a new game, but another said you can edit and add dialogue provided you haven't met the follower yet.
