I remember having this idea of joshua, thinking he was rude and smug, and I was like "how is he like that but writes all of these amazing words"? But when I started to hear what he has to say, and listening to this and other interviews, I realized how much I got it wrong. When I went to a QOTSA concert, he was really fun and nice with the audience. He is an unique human and a beautiful soul ❤ not to mention the amazing artist! Love joshua

Era Vulgaris is great song, but the sound city Mantra is a different thing, imo exceptionel!! An album including Trent would ,hopefully, be something that would catch listeners outside of expectations... I´ve always felt Alain Johannis contributes something special so i´d like him and Trent to be chief "enablers" to Josh, whethers it´s qotsa, CV or a Desert Sessions like project!

40:48 propably the coolest reason to play concerts I've heard in a long time. On the Kyuss matter I understand Josh, yet I don't agree. I discovered Kyuss in 2001, 6 years after their demise, and it completely hooked me on the Desert scene. I've seen Qotsa, Brant Bjork, Unida, Hermano, Mondo Generator, Nebula, Fu Manchu, Stöner for several times each and it was great. But the best experience was to see Kyuss lives in 2012 with Scott Reeder on bass. They played for 90mins and I banged with closed eyes the entire concert. To feel tracks like Spaceship Landing, Asteroid or Whitewater was a completely different experience to listen to the albums only. One of the best concert ever and it was actually quite cheap, only 30 bucks. Did I miss Josh? Not at all, but it would have propably been a bit cooler to have him in there too.

I wonder if JH recognizes his contribution to music; in the opinion of most of the musically educated, and musicians I know, he and a few others, -like Jack White, - are single handedly responsible for keeping it alive and kicking.No small thing. The five years leading up to Covid were the busiest years of my life. I moved abroad, my life fell apart while there, I worked like a lunatic to rebuild it all, finally got the hell out of there, moved back home, lost my Dad, broke up with my wife, and the whole time I was just being pulled along. Now that I've had time to process, I sometimes get overwhelmed at my memories (there was a lot of good stuff in there, not just bad). I can't imagine what having 30 years of non stop movement to look back on must be like. This is a great talk.

I really love these conversations. But some honest feedback on where the podcast can be found - I have an Android phone, so I can't "close one app and use another". My options to listen to this are Spotify and KZbin. I can't open an app I can't use on my phone (iTunes) and if I want to listen to your podcast somewhere other than my house where I am on wifi, then that's not an option unless I want to burn through all my data playing it on KZbin. So I have gone from being a faithful regular listener, to jumping in once every couple of months when I happen to see a guest that I want to hear. You can do what you want, but you're putting up barriers for your audience and limiting your potential to grow it. Anyway, I hope you take this as honest feedback from someone who really likes what you do and not complaining.

They had Nick on the show about a month after Josh and he said he was down. Arthur Seay from Unida (John’s second band after Kyuss) interviewed Alfredo Hernández back in January and he said he was down. John Garcia seems like he’s moved past the conflict with Josh and Scott Reeder doesn’t seem like he would be against it either. I think the biggest obstacle would probably be Brant’s grudge against Josh.

I wrote it somewhere else too Josh, you'll probably not read it but, In my view you were always lost, from the moment I got into your music. I would really recommend, if you haven't already, to go down into the earth to your roots. Find out who your ancestors were, what they did, where they are from, and what life is like there. I've heard you say before you possibly have Norwegian ancestry? So why not for example read Old Norse poems? It's a wonderful mythology that's deeply ingrained with the people who wrote it, your forebears. If I had to recommend any one poem, start with Hávamál, if you're looking for some ropes to latch onto in the dark. That way I'm sure you'll find your footing. Either way, divorce is a nightmare. But nightmares are a lot less bad when you have some calmness and assurance as a foundation.

Josh...should do a KYUSS album with the guys so he can help those cats out financially and spiritally. It would be so important to Garcia and Scott Reeder and Josh would find some love in that with those guys too, and you never know what a great album that would come from it. Take the chance, its a win win I believe. As there is a demand for it then it should be a positive thing. The legacy is not like A-list beatles or nirvana level, so stop blowing it up in your mind as something not to mess with, that is just in your head Josh.
